Rock solid toys/ FJ case swap

Anyone know what's up with RST? I've tried to contact them through their website and Facebook. No response. I'm trying to see if I can find part numbers and a proper write up for an FJ case swap into an auto 09 TRD sport. Apparently their forum had a good write-up and all the information necessary but everytime I try to access the forum I get a forum is under construction notice and a blank page. I tried searching the forums on Tacoma world but no luck. If anybody has a working link or knows of anywhere where there is a good write-up it would be greatly appreciated.

I just went yesterday. Pretty sweet

 

There a write up on here too but since you're auto and not manual it's gonna be real easy. To get you started get the Tcase from an automatic FJ and straight swap it for yours. Cut your floorboards for the shifter. Sort the electrical last, KOH will be over by then. You'll need a switch to activate ADD and then you can remove your 4wd ECU and sell it (unless you have the elocker and no 2hi mod for it yet that is)

 

What do those 4WD ECUs sell for? I still have mine, and the selector switch, in a box somewhere.

Any specific years I should be looking at? I have a sport so no elocker. Is it worth it to do dual stick while I'm at it?

 

Any year FJ Cruiser works, dual stick depends on your needs but then it's a lot more work

If your 4wd shit the bed it's still the easiest to buy another actuator. I personally prefer the modern wheel over a manual shifter but I'm in SoCal and not into hardcore off-roading

 

I'm just planning ahead. One of the guys I wheel with had the vacuum line on the actuator freeze and crack causing it to die. $600 CAD for just the actuator lead me to a search for a more robust solution. I figure for about $800 USD I can have a bulletproof solution. I seldom go for easy.

 

This had me confused. Alot of the eBay listings had the 4runner as a compatible vehicle.

 

The only real issue with this swap is the T case shifter. It comes through the floor in the same location as the Taco trans shifter. It would be nice if someone would sell a T case shifter that is made to fit this swap. If someone prototyped it and bult a jig, mass producing them would be easy.

 

possible to get the stick to fit through where the slit is, next to trans shifter? ( slit that fits your phone or whatever else goes there)

 

Yes, but from the pics I have seen, it takes a lot of cutting and tack welding of the shifter inside the cab to get it to fit right.
