your local ace hardware can get them out of their warehouse, or will have them instock in the auto/marine dept. same price as online, with no shipping. they are the same size as the daystar, arb, ect switches. except they are all black. they will fit in your factory blanks with MINOR trimming, all you need is a razor blade and they look great!

finallly got my switches in this weekend!

in order to get the switches in, a little filing needed to be done.. i took a round file to the ridge that is in the stock holes to make the opening flat all around...

then they will slide right in...

i have my driving lights setup as an on-off-on where i can have them on anytime (up position) and only when my high beams are on (down position)

same thing will be done when i hook up my backup lights..

i swapped my factory fog switch and the clutch switch so i will have all my lights in the same row...just ordered up a rocker switch for rock lights today which will replace the factory fog switch

I believe the $4 is just the face plate and the $12 has the face plate and all the mechanics

for my on-off-on switches (driving and backup lights) i bought the cover and switch separate but they assembled them for me...

    VVAFCN5-17U (driving lights rocker) $3.50
    VVAFC77-18B (backup lights rocker) $3.50
V6DAF66B-00000-000 V-series contura II sealed rocker switch, body only, no rocker $8.50 each (2)

then for my rock lights i got the fully assembled

V1D1J66B-AFCBL-RK1 V-series contura II sealed rocker switch, rock lights
the switch body is V1DAB60B - 12V single upper light, no lower light
without the lower light it came to $11.00

this should be in by the end of the week or early next week...

EDIT: just checked my tracking on my order and they should be in today!!! damn these guys are fast! ordered the switch 2 days ago...

You shouldn't need to run a high amp switch. You should wire the switch to wear the switch powers a relay in the relay takes all the high amps

You need to know what the current draw is on the HID ballasts, I know my DDM 35W ballasts draw 11.5A each, but those 100w KC's will draw 8.3A each and the 55W lights will draw about half that.

    I (Current) = P (Watts) / E (Volts)

So it depends on how many switches you want to run, but most likely you will want to use a relay, and you can use whatever switch you want since a relay coil draws only fractions of an amp.

I would recommend using relays but typically the amp is the number of Watts divided by the number of volts (12) so the highest thing you will be running on a single switch will be the 2 55w backup lights with the 3 35w kragens in second.

The two 55w backup lights will run 110w at 12V so about 9.2 Amps.

The three Kragens will run 105W at 12v so about 8.75 Amps.

In short 16A Switches should be fine if you don't want to spend the money on relays
