I haven't popped in here for a while. Are we still looking at October 18-21 or have things changed?

location will change...style of gathering will be brought back to the roots...still full of great times, camping and wheeling

timeframe is looking to stay since so many have already blocked out around that weekend...the weekend after would be a little quieter in moab, but we'll figure a way to get us all out there and hanging out

Thanks for the info. I'll include the dates in the copilot application form.

    What locations are you considering?

ken's lake that has many first come first serve sites, a lake and close access to town...there is also BLM dispersed camping not far down the valley at the base of the hill up to the BFE/BTH region...sounds like BLM is adding another 20+ sites to the campground

the ledge campground area off kane creek rd with many first come sites as well...close to some great trails, a little more secluded and might be easier to get sites...this used to be all free dispersed camping, but it sounds like BLM has taken this over...there are a couple other sites along the way people could snag up...and there's some more dispersed camping down the road just before the kane creek trailhead if needed..

still working out the cost logistics, but we'd still love to keep the costs for attendees as minimal as possible..

Fairly certain they are plenty busy trying to actually coordinate the event along with their day jobs while trying to provide as much info as they can along the way.

If someone with spare time wanted to google the sites and put them on the map, go for it, however... The organizers have jobs and lives and should be thanked for volunteering for as much time and effort as they are putting into it... It's not easy.

@Reh5108 made mention of Kane Creek when we were there at the beginning of the month. Seems like there are a handful of BLM spots on both ends of Kane Creek trail as well.

Yes I know. I had already planned on stayin at ken's lake anyways.

But u also have people that have no idea where anything is and since this one is going to spread out unlike the last few years anyways people might want to know which places are close to what and pick from there. I wouldn't want to stay the farthest away from all the good stuff unless I had no other choice

Anyone who needs their personal preferences taken into consideration needs to pm one of them and actively help plan it... IMO

It's very clearly not a situation of having a free choice of anything we want and they are doing the best they can.

Thanks Bob. I don't know many of the places you mentioned, but it's nice to have the names to put in the Google machine.

I just went through the 2016 photo thread again and it got me stoked!!!!!

The Catacomb camp spot would be a pretty cool spot to hold a dinner and raffle. Too bad it's a bit out of the way if you are not planning on being in that area.

Ideally we'd all be camped together. But realistically with people rolling in at various times and Moab being super busy that time of year we'll probably have to use all the mentioned camping areas.

And if the dinner & raffle is at the some other camp ground from my camp, I'll more than likely just stay put and have a beer.

The drive from say Ken's Lake to the camp grounds out closer to the Kane Creek trail head is not insignificant, especially in the dark after a beer or 2.

I'd hate to see someone get a DUI or worse.

Last year i remember seeing a giant camp ground before the Z turn on Kane road. don't remember the name of it or anything else just know it's next to the river. I don't think i could get my train of a tow rig past the Z turn so it's either i figure out what that camp is and see what it takes to stay there or stay at Kens lake

just checked on it and the one next to it and neither of them will allow for tow rigs so yeah Kens lake it is for this guy.

I like the water fall over there anyways.

I'd advise attempting to make a reservation asap.

Just checked the website - weekend of the 19th - 22nd is all but booked up.
