reserve america. i just checked and it only shows two group sights at kens and both are taken up the weekend of the event but i think if people just show up in the middle of the week they should be able to get normal sights and split them between two trucks.

I'm not certain if you can have multiple vehicles occupy a spot. I was trying to find that info while on the website. Did you see anything?

I also wouldn't bank on spots being available by drive-in. Seems to be a pretty popular location, even if it's a "slow" time frame in Moab.

*Edit: Just saw it says first come, first serve. That'll help a bit.

my buddy and i both trailered down last year a year before the RT even and stayed there. The rules for the open spots are a max of 2 vehicles and 4 tents. They told us that the tow rig counts as one but the trailer counts as an camp trailer so if you just park on the trailer two tow rigs can share a spot and you have plenty of room for rents. the bigger spots are 50 foot deep with a table and fire pit. makes life easy.

Edit: unless you trailered down and you have an RTT on you wheeling rig then it would suck.
also if there are a bunch of spots open those of there can just pay for some of the other sights

So are we making reservations already? I plan to be in Moab around the 15th or 16th after making my way through New Mexico and seeing some sites there...

Really hoping to make it this year. Just moved from CA to CO so I'm much closer now.

For all you Moab veterans, what specifically should I do to the truck to prepare? Anything aside from the standard maintenance? I don't think I'll be able to get 35's before the trip, but I am planning on getting all my skids by then... maybe an HC rear bumper if things work out.

Definitely recommend the HC rear with sliders and front bumper if you don't already have some of that. Don't know a lot about the second gens but I went to Moab with my first gen 4 door on 2.5 inch's of lift and 33's with front rear bumpers and sliders and that's about it. Did everything i imagined and more.

With armor, a rear locker, and 33's he could do damn near everything

There is a TON of stuff around Moab for the mild trucks. 32s-33s, some armor, and patience.

I went on 33s with open diffs and not much armor and I had a blast. Just make sure you're in good shape mechanically with all your maintenance up to speed.

If you're going to do upgrades, armor should be a priority. It'll be a lot more fun with some extra peace of mind. HC rear would be great, I banged the stock bumper up dragging it over rocks. Sliders and skids also highly recommended.

Comms too. Everyone has a CB and a lot have HAM radios.

First year I went was on 265s, an inch of lift, and sliders. Everything else stock. Ran 7 mile, Elephant Hill, and Fins n Things.

Had a blast, learned a lot, met some awesome people, and got hooked.

You don't need a built rig to have fun in Moab.
