Any recommendations on hikes or things that I don't want to miss?

There's a good chance you're being sarcastic here, but just in case you're not, we'll be stopping for food and fuel the 15th/16th before hitting the Maze.

I need to do my research for the Kokopelli still. We only want to spend 2-3 days on it. It’ll obviously be a more direct route.

Im leaving NJ late Fri 12 / Early Sat 13. We left at the same time last year and hit Moab at 8:30 Sun night. The plan is to crash at @Sub-Zero ’s house in CO Sun 14 and head out Mon 15. Then roll into Moab Wed most likely. Ryan’s house is six hours closer than Moab so the plan seems very doable.

@cynicalrider suggested we camp one night at Dome Plateau, so I Ned to look into that.

Make sure to do the Maze Overlook trail to the Harvest Scene. It's a fairly technical scramble to get down there, so do a quick read about it before you head down to know what you're getting in to.

harvest scene hike like brett mentioned is a good one, you can also see the harvest scene with a loop from chimney rock which is between the wall and doll house

horseshoe canyon is a great hike as well... lots of rock art to see... we did the hike down from deadman's trail to avoid any crowds.. if you go that way, high spur has some cool slots to explore

from the maze overlook over to the doll house will take most of the day, so take that into account. and getting out from the wall over to moab will also take most of the day.

lots of cool things to see on the way in depending on which way you go (rt 24 or south from green river).. few options on the way out as well (to hite, poison spring, back to hans flat)

and don't forget to bag you shit! :poking:

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m probably going to have to stick to short hikes just due to the time constraints, like you said. By the looks of it we’ll have a little more time to hike Thursday since the drive between dollhouse and the wall isn’t too far. It looks like you can do harvest scene from either the north or south end.

So the campsites in the maze aren’t like aren’t like white rim where there’s a shitter?

they require you to bag your shit....

    "Vehicle Campsites
Permits are required for overnight trips. Four-wheel-drive vehicle and mountain bike groups stay in designated sites. Each campsite will accommodate up to 9 people and 3 vehicles. Flint Seep will accommodate groups of 16 people and 5 vehicles. Trailers and motorcycles are considered vehicles for these group size limits. Groups must provide their own cleanable, reusable toilet system. The sites do not have picnic tables."

speaking of shit. is that a plan for bathrooms this year at the gathering? I will probably devise something to make life easier for Morgan when she comes down which will be before the event actually goes down.
