We were glad to have the tent heater last year.

It was funny, we would wait for the sun to poke over the mountains to get out of the tent.

It was “damn, it’s cold... Ahhhhh sun”

Ha! I know what a heat gun is. I just never would’ve though to use one as a tent (hobbit hole) heater. I know it’ll work. Great idea.

i doubt it work worth a shit in a tent but since the hobbit hole is insulated it should work just fine. i was building a propane heater but am not happy with it and want to do something different but not sure what yet. the actual tent heaters require more ventilation than the hobbit hole has.

I use a Mr. Heater - Buddy when camping. It heats a CVT right up and he CVT does a descent job at holding it while getting dressed...until you break the seal of the tent.

Big thing we found out camping is to make sure there's ventilation... had friends hard to breath during the night when they were all closed up... I used to run my annex with the back wall not connected up top, only the three side zipped, and I never had an issue. Seems like that little opening was enough, and was still warm even in single digits.

It could also be a difference in tent manufacturers and their canvas thickness and design of the upper vents... but better save than dead

Def agree. I will say, I don’t ever sleep with it on. I use it when changing/getting into the sleeping bag then again when getting up. I’ll give it about 5 min before I actually start moving, just to heat up.

ALSO, the orig purpose was to keep the wife and kid more comfortable haha
