How accessible are the trails? I just recently bought a 2020 TRD OR and haven't had the time (Or the funds :anonymous:) to lift or upgrade tires. This sounds like an awesome time but I'm unsure of how gnarly its gonna get.

Check out Potash road into Canyonlands NP, up the Schaefer switchbacks and out of the NP by dead horse point state park, and back into Moab via Pucker Pass. That's an awesome loop that is stock friendly.

I thought it sounded more like a socially distanced reach-around.

Somebody in here was mentioning they had a two seater sleeping bag. You could probably coordinate with them.

I was just there about a month ago, Mask are mandatory inside the town of Moab. Hotels are a little weird, You no longer get room service or cleaning during your stay. Restaurants are still in full operation and tables are spaced 6 feet apart. There was no trail restrictions when I was there, other then AREA BFE is closed for renovations. Also another note, There was some major road construction right when you come into Moab. So might be a bit of traffic getting to and from the trails while going through Moab.

kayla just drove through there today... traffic to get into town on 191 from the north was backed up past arches this afternoon... around 430pm. what a shit show.

it'll be nice when that construction is done. it'll make it 2 lanes all the way from 313, over the river and through town.. no more bottleneck

Careful what you wish for, easier access for the hoards may just make the town and trails worse in the long run.

It's been shitshow for a while now.

Rusty Nail Friday of RT2018 we ended up stuck in traffic on the trail. When I broke and was limping back to camp, traffic was backed by up early afternoon and it took me a good while to get across town.

It was even worse when the rest of the group were coming back at around 5ish.

It's demotivating when you've been going out there for over a decade and remember how it used to be. To the point where Chris and I were talking about not doing Moab anymore. It's jumped the shark. Too many tourists. Too many SXSs. To many identical looking JK/JLs. Too many big groups. You need to be there early week to get a camp site for the weekend.

Quickest way into Moab for me is from the south. Last year for RT I stayed on south side trails. Made it more enjoyable.

Also did a trip in Feb before COVID was a thing. A storm was predicted but didn't materialize, so I shot out there. The place was empty. It was amazing. Walked into Moab Diner on a Saturday morning straight to a table. Straight in at the brewery. No lines anywhere. Zero traffic on the trails. Rekindled my Moab feels.
