only thing i had to winch up was rocker knocker (as did everyone else but the 4R)...just drive better :D

i did spend a lot of time cooking my transmission and shredding tires on that obstacle though

no, thats why I had to winch up

if I had the log winch the obstacle would have cowered in fear and let me drive up it, as it it no match for a truck with that kind of technology.

@rctoy and I didn't pull cable once when we ran it last year.

I think we will be able to make rocker knocker with the front locker. Chewy hill will be difficult with the extra length and I'm not sure if we will make that without pulling cable.

Konsta and I crawled Chewy last year. I didn't even slip a tire. And now I've probably jinxed myself for this year.

Now just to make us all seem lame here is the Moab motorsports dually squarebody wrecker towing a trailer through Pritchett.

@Tacoma1192 got our asses kicked on pritchett. Long wide ass IFS trucks with weak front ends don't exactly excel there.

If any 2nd/3rd gen IFS Tacos can get up Rocker knocker or son of rock pile without a winch I'll be surprised.

Stock width trucks might be able to do the "jeep walk" up Rocker knocker but it seemed like @Tacoma1192 and I were too wide, not enough front travel, and too long to get the line.

@CGoss got up Axle Hill unsupported, looks like you have to keep the same line as everyone else and going off the line results in a tire lifting in an extremely uncomfortable position. Keep your belly in the middle and don't start turning for the third ledge until your front end is over the second

Chewy might be possible with the perfect line choice and enough nerve to go way off camber on a hill.

Here's a first gen IFS making chewy look easy..... And then almost dying on Axle Hill.

Not being able to turn those 40s probably didn't help you guys either. There was a few times if I could turn it would've helped alot.

Im curious on how they got onto chewy in the video. It looks alot more rock stacked and that was my major issue. Once all 4 tires were up it walked up without the winch.

Rockpile will be determined by how rock stacked it is. The white jku that started kane creek with us couldn't make it. But later another group made it up after 5mins of moving rocks around, then winched the rest of thier group up.

If you look at the video, chewy wasn't dug out nearly as bad as it is now. The video is only like a year old and now chewy is probably had another 12-18" of dugout at the base. Kyle one shotted the first slab on chewy so it's doable, but the next set of ledges puts you at that really awkward camber with long wheel bases.

Son of rock pile was a bitch, we struggled to even get my front end up the ledge. without an aggressive bump it looks borderline impossible to get the rear end up. Kyle tried for a short bit but at that point our dignity was long gone and just said fuck it and winched. If you spent all day stacking it might be possible. Anyone bumping with a stock rear axle and tires big enough to pull it off is going to cut the life of their rear diff pretty short.

Another thing that would be a big help would be having a couple extra guys for spotting and holding on bumpers when someone lifts a tire badly. Only having 1 spotter on that trail makes it more taxing.
