You should ask Matt, but I think your truck would be a riot on topless period us long wheelbase guys would get our ass kicked all day, but it would still be super fun. I think we would have a little bit of upper hand on calamity and most of us would have to winch the exit, but that would be another fun one to do with the group we had on saturday.

I would of thought the shorter wheelbase was a good thing. Nice runner!

They were all on 37's as well so that may have played into it vs my 315s, but as long as you have the breakover clearance, longer is usually better in Moab allowing the front to get further up and over to pull through. I got hung up on my lower link mounts and gas tank in a few spots that they didn't have any issues too. And thanks!

Yeah dangling link mounts are no good. That was demise of other 4runner a few times.
Moab and most tech stuff is great, if you can get the front up it'll drag the rear.

The long wheelbase advantage was obvious on Pritchett. The 4runners often got stuck climbing ledges front and rear at the same time, while us Tacomas could get the front up before the rear would hit the ledge

What rear diff do you have in the war rig?
Is that the 8 inch with 3.91 gears?

Good to see the 8 inch handle the big tires.
Wasn't sure if I should have buyers remorse for getting the SR and the 8 inch diff.

Im not super hard on the throttle or aggressive with it. It will be swapped eventually as we will inevitably bend it.

Not to mention that it has held up to being spooled for quite some time

This is also true. I more so mean the housing. The drop outs are cheap enough no one cares. I think our current 3rd is an old 4cyl 8.

    That's great to hear.
My old lincoln locker 8 inch from the 80s held up great too on my last rig.

It looks like I'll be ok with running 34s and an ARB on the 8 inch diff for a while.

On the subject of big air in a truck.
Is there a technique for keeping the front end up? Can you brake and preload the front suspension like you do on a bike?

In stock configuration I think the weight balance is like a 60/40 front weight bias, add in front bumper winch extra s*** and take the weight of the spare away and you quickly create a higher front bias. A lot depends on so much about the truck itself and what you're hitting to catch air that I don't think there's a generic answer
