    Hey, Folks.

As many of us know, there is no aftermarket replacement for our crappy stock body mounts. Well, Rogue Offroad ( www.rogue-offroad.com ) has a kit. @Despized is offering a second round on the Group Buy if we can get 15 folks.

    Here's the kit:
    https://rogue-offroad.com/ROGUEENERGY-Body-Mount-Set_p_19366.html

The GB cost is $175 plus shipping for the kit. Comes with the bushings for the whole cab, washers, and diamond plates. Everything you see in the link above, except the finish on the diamond plates with be powder coat instead of plated.

A group of us met Shawn / @Despized on a road trip. He spent a couple hours just chatting with us. Killer shop and just amazing toys, including that S/C'ed and carbon bodied Taco.

Please let me know if you want to be added.

    Thanks!

    Round 1 Winners:

    Installation Details:

The installation instructions are attached along with the torque specs for body parts.

For ACLB Tacos, only the rear seat bottoms need to be removed. No need to touch the rear panel.

For DCSB and DCLB Tacos, see the attached Diff Whine TSB for rear body mount access. <---- Sorry. Strikethrough seems to have disappeared. This is not necessary. I am removing that TSB. There are two carpet flaps in the small pocket outboard of the rear seats. If you pick these flaps up, the Body Mount bolt cap is right there. Zero need to pull the interior back panel. This greatly simplifies the installation.

    Here's @MountainManGuy 's installation post:

Here are my posts about the front ABS harnesses and some installation info:

There is a video on the Energy site:
    https://teamenergysuspension.com/20...nsion-toyota-tacoma-body-mount-install-video/

It is not hard at all once you see what is going on.

    These would be my notes:

-- Pull the four front wheel well skirts. Either the top or bottom push fasteners. It doesn't matter.
-- Remove the two ABS connectors from their mounts. See my pics in the 1st post.
-- Remove the two outer screws that fasten the front wheels well to bumper. And the one push fastener just above those. It has a slotted head on it.
Pull back the wheel well liner to give access to the front body mounts.
-- Pull the plastic front door sill covers and kick panels. Under the kick panels / carpet are two foam blocks. The passenger side just pulls back. The drivers side needs to be unscrewed. Kinda of a pain.
Under there, there will be a big plastic cover (about 2in). Pull those out.
-- I have no idea where the rear body mount covers are on the DCs. They are the same as the fronts when you find them. No pics from anyone else yet.
-- Loosen the body mounts only a few turns on the side that you are not working on. 17mm and 19mm deep well sockets.
-- Remove the lower parts of the three body mounts on the side that you are working on.
-- Use a jack with a board on top to jack the pinch weld near the middle of the front cab. Only go up enough to get your hand in between the frame and cab.
-- Use a 14mm ratcheting combo wrench to remove the rear two OE mounts. The fronts come out by hand.
If you need to, jack just enough for the mounts to clear. I used a cheater wrench setup to loosen and tighten these. No easy way to get a torque wrench in there.
-- Reusing the 14mm screws, drop in the diamond plates from the kit. Even though there are slots, they only fit in one position.
-- I lubed my mounts, sleeves, and washers with marine grease.
-- Drop in the mounts per the instructions.
-- Lower the cab slowly and fasten them loosely.
-- Repeat on the other side.
-- When you are done, torque per the other attachment in the 1st Post.
-- Reassemble the other parts of the Taco. The orange clips for the fender to bumper might be the worst part of the job? It needs to go between the bumper and wheel well while engaging a metallic bracket above it. Stupid setup.
I do believe because of the lube, the cab just settled in once all six were installed. I didn't need to do anything and all six were aligned well and the cab looked great.

Bump because my cab seems like it has rubbers (if you catch my drift) for body mounts

    Hey, Shawn!

It was great chatting with you back in April.

Let's do it. I think we have three or four folks ready to go. I believe one of my rear mounts is shot.

I can change the title on this thread and get it rolling if you are interested?

What is the exact nature of the failure?
Is it the actual part; or are they in a state of bind or unevenly torqued at the factory?

The front ones are just screwed up, mainly from misalignment or something that Toyota is missing on the design side. I believe my left rear one is gone and squeaking in wet conditions.

In the end, it was a slightly noticeable change after doing the fronts with the Energy Suspension universal kit. So, I think it would be nice to get poly all around to fix the other failed one(s).

Just waiting on the GB details from Rogue Offroad.
