I'm confused, is this for 3rd gen? I was shopping for body mount kits (can't really wait on the group buy) and oddly enough was having trouble finding any. Ended up on Energy's website, and an employee just confirmed that they don't offer a 3rd gen version of their body mount kit ‍♂️
That is a super generous offer and would love to take you up on it. DM'ing you

Yes. That is the entire problem. I've contacted Energy. They said to hold tight a long time back.

@Despized has had this kit ready for a while now.

Can't thank daveeasa enough for giving me his set from round 1 of the group buy, while he waits for me to replace them with the ones I'm snagging in round 2. Also, thanks to tonered for shipping them out to me quickly!

I'm About to do the front bushings, but I noticed for the small front bushings there are 2 different size washers. Which goes on top of the bushingC517C64A-F95F-49BB-8A45-BBAB9C64810F.jpg 50CA580C-FD25-437F-9494-E9E8EF4E6759.jpg 914A176C-1611-4A27-8D1E-9007D4D7BE71.jpg 923F7366-C524-4D48-A0CB-63E710376473.jpg

From the video on Energy's website (linked in the 1st post) it looks like for the front bushings, the larger of the two sizes goes on top, just like in my last photo above

Got around to installing the kit today. Pretty straight forward job. Most of my mounts were in good condition, except the front on each side. Those two were absolutely garbage, no wonder my front end was making so much noise.

Sort of stuck on my install.

My sliders are interfering with my ability to jack up the body from the pinch welds and they are a major pain to remove. Any ideas on an alternate location?

Also having an issue with the front driver's side. The bolt hole on the mount is not lined up enough for me to assemble everything and get the bolt through

You'll need to loosen them all a bit and slide the cab into alignment.

Thanks! They're all loose, just not sure how I'm going to "slide the cab".

    You're welcome!

    That is how they go.

    Yeah! Great to hear!

That is half the problem with the stock mounts. They have a ton of slop allowed and make the alignment / partial replacement hard. You can just push on the door sills and the cab will shift around.

Job completed last night! Looking forward to taking it for a spin today.

Both front bushings were toast. I wheel my tacoma fairly regularly and put it through a lot. Not sure if mall crawlers are having the same problem, but the rubber used for the bushings is really low quality. Surprised, but not surprised. Feels good to know everything is rock solid now for a long time to come.

    My takeaways:

    1) When I had installed my Victory 4x4 bumper long ago, one of the things that bugged me was that although we cut the front perfectly, the drivers side front corner sat super close to the bumper while the passenger side had enough room under it to fit a flat hand under. I never knew exactly why, until I did this job. The front driver side bushing was less smashed down to less than half the height of the Energy replacements, and significantly flatter than the left side.

Driver side (Energy top bushing in my hand)

    IMG_5332.HEIC.jpg

    Passenger side

    IMG_5333.HEIC.jpg

Photo from back in 2021 when I installed the bumper. Always bothered me that the "bumper was not even" (wasn't the bumper after all, it was the crappy OEM bushings)

    IMG_9568.HEIC.jpg

Photo from last night after installing the Energy bushings. Almost completely level with the bumper:

    IMG_5343.jpg

    2) Got stuck when I started out to do just the front ones. The bolt hole for the first one I tried was misaligned and I could not get the bolt through the assembly with the sleeve installed. After advice from you guys, once the body was floating (jack stands holding up pinch welds on both sides) it was easily aligned with a buddy pushing on the cab while I fed the bolt through.

While I had the body up, I knocked out the entire job instead of just doing the fronts. Was pretty easy and I would recommend doing them all at once.

    3) Drivers-side ABS sensor: On the passenger side it was easy to access the back of the mounting plate to squeeze the clips and remove. On the driver side, the mounting plate that the ABS connector is on offers easy access to depress the top clip, but the metal mounting has sections of metal plate that block access to the bottom clip! It also blocks access to the bottom clip from the front, and everything in the engine bay blocks access to the bottom clip from the back as well.

After beating my head against the wall on this one, I discovered that there is an access hole in the wheel well JUST for depressing the bottom clip. Not sure if this was already discussed somewhere in this thread, but I didn't see it and knowing this would have saved me a bunch of time on this simple part of the job!

You can actually see the bottom of the clip through the hole in the second image below:

    IMG_5344.HEIC.jpgIMG_5345.HEIC.jpg

    3) My sliders prevented jacking up from the pinch welds, so I had to use 2 x 4 chunks on the jack, and find a reinforced area under the body about a foot toward the center of the truck to lift , then the jack stands were able to fit between the slider and pinch welds to lower the body onto.

    4) Grease all of the pieces with Silicone or Lithium grease. Not only will it protect the bushing everywhere metal touches and prevent squeaks, it will help the front top bushing to locate properly into the mount hole (just big enough to fit in there and it needs to pop in as you lower the body)

Thanks to everyone that offered advice, and again to daveeasa and tonered for getting these into my hands so quickly!

    You're welcome!

I'm glad that you got all six in there. Even though the rears are not as trashy as the fronts, I feel that having everything located and supported properly is key? The stock rears allow too much slop for the cab alignment. I used to think that somehow the cab and frame holes were off, but it is all the shit stock bushings.

Great tip on that right side access hole.

How does it feel going down the road? I'm enjoying the ride.

Circling back to this, after the installation comments from @jayrome and my own experience, I have changed my mind to believe that it is not a cab / frame design issue, but mostly what you mentioned above. Final assembly alignment with the contributing factor of shit stock cab mount materials. There is much less adjustment allowed by the Rogue Offroad kit and the cab just drops right into place. And, my cab appears to be aligned very well with the bed.

    Hey, Folks.

I found access instructions for the rear body mounts in the Diff Whine TSB. I attached that to the 1st Post.
