I did it when I installed bed rails. It was a challenge. you have to check where you need to drill holes and then figure out how to bolt them on. On the rear part of the rail I was able to access the bolts by removing the storage bins. The front bolts I had several extensions on my ratchet and laid on the ground while my wife held a wrench on the top. I had to tape the nut the socket and then spin it on to the bolt which was 3 feet above me. It was fun but worth it. You really have to eyeball where you drill and make sure you get it right the first time. I didn't have to remove the black bed cap. Just make sure you drill in a good spot. Its also uneven underneath and some areas are thicker. It took some looking but I found a way to do it. I remember also having to use longer bolts than they gave me for the rails.
Set the rails where you want them and then look underneath. Adjust as needed.

Op if there is a will there is a way . You made your purchase and those caps come off like opening a ziplock bag . It goes right back together . Mark your holes pull them off to make sure your good underneath and drill .then throw them back on to see where your next hole or nutzert/rivnut needs to go or whatever the directions say .

Have to make sure your drill uses the 1.21 gigawatt battery though to be mcfly .

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I don’t usually say much about mods that people want to do. Everyone has their own style, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

That said, OP, that bar setup is not attractive. It doesn’t just bolt on, and it isn’t actually a roll bar, even if it is made from structural steel.

I really liked the way mine looks. I get a lot of compliments. It’s not everyone’s style. But I like it

Pretty much matches the bolt-ons front and back and the predator rails.

And considering how many here people drool over the TRD Pro grille.... I think it's clear TW's sense of style is suspect at best. [it looks like cheap plastic, guys! :anonymous:]

thanks man, this was my one and only post here, bummer, it seemed like a friendly forum

I did mount the bar and I found an easy peasy way, I could use either the bed rails or direct mount. But it is on and looks modern with a retro look of the 80's bars.

Nobody's hating on you or your truck m8 just hating on that bar thing. This is a fairly friendly place but also a place where people aren't afraid to voice their opinions. You gotta be a little thick skined around here!

One of my favorite part of this forum-is seeing everyone's take on a Tacoma. The other thing I like-is all the good natured ribbing that goes on.It's entertaining-that being said-Cowboy Up-If you like it-that's all that matters.

I would get the bed rack, predator steps, bull bar, and rear hitch step for the simple effect of not having to worry about RPGs anymore. Win.
