It's up to you but I think it would be in your
Best interest to confirm if the frame is damaged
    Before you begin to repair.

    Where do you live??

You might want to check your local laws - and/or - what you might run into when trying to get that truck inspected / rebuilt.

If you're anything like PA ....and you do this outside of the legal system (insurance company) when you fix everything up and take it in to inspected, they WILL find issues and start asking questions. PA has strict rules about 'rebuilding' vehicles - and piecing together parts, etc.

You're better off asking questions NOW ..... because if you rebuild everything under the assumption you'll be OK.... your state could deny you an inspection sticker and you'll be forced to rework things.

    Just sayin....

Indiana is the same way. Only time you need an inspection is when you buy an out of state vehicle and all they do is check the Vin to see that it isn't stolen and that it matches.

You'll have to get an entire new title. The vin is in the body and it won't match the frame. I got a new one stamped into my frame after I did my cab swap.

Wow, I'll bet it's harder to undo the "1001 dent mod" than it was to do it. Good luck with the rebuild.

If it were me, I'd do what you need to if you want to rebuild it, even if that means getting a "rebuilt" title.

Although you love your truck, I think the chances are good that someday you will part with it. If your don't report this to your insurance company (to avoid a "rebuilt" title), and the next owner finds out that it's been rebuilt BEFORE they buy it - that's O.K. However, if they find out it's been rebuilt AFTER they buy it and you didn't disclose that fact...you're going to getting sued for fraud!

    I wouldn't risk it, but that's just my .02.

    Respectfully,
    Ed

Ya that's pretty nasty. I rolled mine a few years back so I know how you feel. Mine wasn't as bad as yours but would have still been a write off had I put it threw insurance. Got lucky and with about a grand in parts and some work I've got it back together as my DD now.
