They actually made a 3rd gen tundra? I always just thought it was a redesigned 2nd gen

it is... but its called a 3rd gen tundra.. dont ask me why.

same goes for the 3rd gen taco. its still a 2nd gen skeleton just different front end and powertrain (you can swap 3rd gen taco body parts onto a 2nd gen, same for tundras)

Going to try and do the AAL this weekend. I also need to do some measuring and get shorter gas struts so i can still reach the rear glass... once its lifted in the back i'll have to jump to close it as it sits...

oh and i have 100W halogens to install with a harness and the main engine bay harness to also swap over so all the trailer shit works... then its onto the interior blackout project.

once this is all installed the trailer shit should 100% work. i have to straighten out the hitch where the 7 way goes. but thats easy.

    Old (top) new (bottom)
[IMG] And she went in without much fuss, replaced all the broken clips too. So far everything seems to work, so this truck has officially been retrofitted with the tow package (sans the factory hitch)

And with the AAL in the rear + retaining the overload she sits perfect. Bit of rake means she should handle a trailer perfect

man, i got quite a bit done today. Got the rear hopkins 7way/4way trailer plug hooked up too. minor modifying to make it fit the hitch, but looks good!
[IMG] [IMG] 35 bucks vs toyotas 150 dollar one that is only a 7 way. Plug and play to boot!

[IMG] took it to work.. was slow so retorqued everything ive done recently... all good there. Did find out i need a ECGS diff bushing (figured that would be needed) and i may as well do the center bearing, its saging pretty good and well. it has 195k on it. so got all that ordered for later.

Thanks! I’m pretty happy with the truck. Just tidy up for now. I need to get some work done on the taco before I “mod” this truck. But eventually it’ll get the whole treatment

[IMG] Got the front breathers up into the arb breather. I’ll worry about the rear eventually. Probably just t into the front breather line. And I have a 1/8” manifold for all the electric motor breathers to go to a 5/16 hose to the web breather as well. Probably get that done at work one day

Preped the new black leather steering wheel. Swapped the control boards so I can have green back light instead of amber, installed a steering damper (I had it, it’s suppose to help, why not) and cleaned it all up.

[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]Installed.. eventually it'll get new leather and painted the same as the rest of the interior... but for now its close enough

Oh and i have to find a black airbag or airbag cover now..
[IMG][IMG] got to get the other side controls too. but that'll require so soldering to match the LEDS. i may eventually decide to solder in some white LEDS. but as of now the clock is green and the mirror is green so this green doesnt bother me when compared to the white lights on the dash (cluster will get done soonish)

Got one door panel setup for power windows.. paint the bare door panel black and I’ll have the fabric redone in leather... need to find shorter screws for a few spots, but it hold good and tight.. tighter than stock actually!
