since you are 4wd, you will have to cut the crossmember that is currently holding up your front differential. The drop bracket has a new support that it mounts to

I enjoyed reading up on this build. I'm curious to know how the giant leaf pack performs compared to engage's or a deaver 50T pack. how much travel do the 50T packs pull compared to giants? are there any major differences in the giant leaf pack and a 50T as far as performance? I really can't wait to do my rear end now

Yep, a few differences are 4WD requires extended axles to retain the 4WD, the spindles are different and nobody that I am aware of has 4WD aftermarket spindles yet. I've see people working on them though. Also the front coilovers have an extended mounting shaft to give enough clearance for the axle

Thank you, although I have no insight on any of these questions since I've never had experience with the engage kit. The GIANT so far is a very nice ride. I have no weight in my bed right now so I bounce a bit. Putting a tire or two in the back fixes that (or removing 3-4 leafs from the pack)

the 50T pack is a "race" style leaf pack... tons of arch, tons of uptravel, can hold weight with out sagging (fuel cell, dual spares, cage work, jack...) triple wrapped front mount, lots of lift

the giant and dmz leaf packs are deaver packs designed specifically for the tacoma... weight, lift, ride quality...

all are pretty much the same, the 50T is just an extreme version of the deaver packs

I see. thanks for the insight. I plan on doing the engage full cage for my truck with the dual tire carrier. and the tool box and all that. I was just wondering if the extra 3 inches of travel made a difference in handling or how they both did with weight. anyways. I can't wait to see the future progression of this truck

thanks man, the wheels arent actually chrome, its more of a brushed steel..not sure what you'd call that. Here is a good picture of what they look like up close. They are the motometal 958. I think they actually come in chrome too which I am not a fan of either.
