That all makes good sense, I would expect a more professional experience than what I got at the Toyota dealership if I bought a luxury car. That’s for sure.

I didn’t realize the GX requires premium gas. That’s good to know.

Definitely, I had the first few years of regular maintenance free from Toyota as well. They just couldn’t make it two years without messing it up lol, pretty disappointed but I still love my truck. Nothing truck related, all customer service issues which I’m sure is dealership-specific.

Thank you guys both for all the info!

91 octane is recommended. I would have been mighty annoyed over the summer when gas prices skyrocketed…

Yeah that could get rough, especially on long trips.

As was said prior, the only expensive part is really the cost of the "premium" dealership experience. Do things yourself, and it should be about the same to run as a 4Runner (save for the gas mileage hit and 91+ octane recommendation).

All good, getting reliable info from owners is what build threads are partially for

Because I am 4WD obsessed and a child at heart, I picked up an RC crawler a few weeks ago and have had more fun with it than anyone my age should. There's bigger/badder toys in this hobby by the $150 Traxxas TRX4M is a ton of fun to play around with on those cold, rainy winter days.

I'm super spoiled by my side gig. After 10 years of writing about cars for free / with no real outlet, I am finally getting a regular rotation of press cars. The CT5-V Blackwing is truly spectacular.

Going to try to post on here about every car I have the luxury of driving and spending time with.

I'm afraid if there's too much ice we will slide the whole way down Mountain. That might not end well LOL. Some of those rocks and drops could send you sideways.

Nothing scarier than holding on for dear life

Back when I had my white 4th gen 4Runner, we hit the NJ spot after a big snowstorm. Slid down a hill in 4Low and basically waited for the impact... went through some snow and got away unscathed, only to kill ABS and all the sensors trying to plow through some deep snow a few minutes later
