    Hey!

Just noticed my 2016 sr5 double cab has a leak apparently. Does not feel wet but when putting baby in the back seat I noticed the stain. Seeing the fall pattern is from window to window any thoughts?

I was thinking the shark fin antenna might be letting water in? I don’t have a roof rack but those seals up top might be leaking?

3rd brake light seal recall; take it to your dealer for a free replacement/free everything damaged.

Oh wow thanks for the info. I wonder if they will replace the ceiling fabric since it’s all stained up now.

plug your VIN in here to get the exact info you need to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible with your dealer. Considering they'll be replacing your headliner and possibly other things, expect to be without your truck for a while, and definitely ask about a loaner EQUIVALENT to your truck if you have true truck needs during that fix period.

Turns out they replaced it last month. I was wondering why my truck smells like a gym locker and my wife said the same thing. So when they replaced it they must have screwed up since there was no stains before and they even marked that on their inspection. Should I get a lawyer? Sounds dramatic but I don’t know if that smell will ever come out or if it’s mold? I have an infant I drive 40 miles to daycare every day so I’m being on the safe side I guess. Any input?

Replaced the headliner last month or the brake light seal? Regardless, it needs to go back to the dealer because the 3rd brake light most definitely caused the damage to the headliner.

We'll put it this way; you didn't have stains before (and their inspection proves that) the work that they did, and now you do, with no other work done to the vehicle since. Its no doubt their problem to fix.

They replaced the brake light during a regular service when I took it in. They said it was recalled and they went ahead and replaced it.

Can you snag a picture of your 3rd brake light? We can tell you whether they truly did or not based off looks; but sounds like they did, and created a problem in the process unfortunately. Just contact your dealer back as soon as you can.

Do they essentially just replace the seal/gasket?

We actually just took my wife’s 21 platinum highlander there after she was rear ended and they fixed it and when I looked it over it was missing bolts and they also forgot to put a part back on. This was their body shop but still under the same dealer name. Well we just got her car back yesterday and I am finding these issues for my truck now and I had used their service department. I can’t win and need to get this fixed and switch where I take my truck too.

Damn, the fix caused a leak. I've been putting off taking my truck in for the fix, but now I'm tempted to just put some eternabond around mine and call it a day.

Has anyone had this recall done without a leak developing first? I figured if it is a recall they are obligated to do it regardless.

They actually never asked to change the brake light before doing it. After the oil change they told me they went ahead and changed it because of a recall. I didn’t think anything of it.

My truck had no leaks prior to having the Service Campaign done, if there are no leaks they just glue a Trim Ring around the old light.

Thanks, when I inquired with the dealer, they told me they would have to see if it leaks first. Will not be going back there.

Here is what it looks like after they glued the trim ring on. If they have to replace the light it will be a big job as they have to drop the headliner.
