Yes, that works as well. I ran wires on my 1st Gen through the rubber cab plug. I just drilled a hole through it and used silicone to seal it up. I'd prefer to go through the back door!

Any chance you still have this truck and are willing to post up a few shots of the routing of wires still?

If you have a double cab there are 4 holes on each side of the roof to mount the factory roof rack. I ended up not mounting mine on the roof cause of the noise, but was planning on running the wiring through those holes into the cab and just putting silicone around the wiring. From there you have lots of options for getting them back to the engine bay and switch.

Ah gotcha, unfortunately I’ve got a Prinsu on the roof of my DCLB already.

Just got a new Caliraised light bar.... line from light bar terminates before wire can make it into engine bay... but the install above seems like the cleanest way to install. It's a 200 Watt LED, 20,000 lumen...what gauge wire would you guys go with.... need it thin enough to fit down the channel and stay...going to use some black silicone or windshield sealant.

I just installed my Extreme LED bar, But i could not for the life of me get it in the channel. I even cut out all the existing wire loom and heat shrink'd it entirely. I couldn't push it in to the channel for my life. Am I just being a pus*y? Or do i need to put black weather seal in the channel first and then press it with all my might and tape it down?

Squirt some lube. Either electrician’s wire pulling lube or whatever you have in your kinky sex drawer into the channel between the windshield molding and the A pillar. Then press the wire into that gap. I just did it with the wiring harness that comes with a CaliRaised light bar and it worked great.
Now I just gotta figure out how to get the bar to fit on my knock off Prinsu rack that has the gap in the wind deflector a hair too narrow.

ETA: or get the KC Universal Wire holder/hider strip. Peel and stick to the windshield next to the trim and it will hide it.

I have the same Extreme X6S light and the same issue of not getting the wire loom in the gap next to the windshield trim. Have you been able to run the wire?

A bit of a highjack here.... has anybody run their wiring ‘up one side and down the other’? In looking at the windshield trim, I’m pretty sure a 10Ga wire will tuck nicely in the cavity. I could run hot up one side of the windshield and ground down the other side. Since I’m making my own harness, it would be easy to do. I have some 12Ga at the moment and can *almost* get two tucked into one side.

Squirt wire lube in there and I bet it will tuck right in.
