Are you ready to see one of the worst roofs on a Tacoma you have ever seen? AZ sun is no joke! The previous owner clearly did not give a hoot.

I am looking for some advise on how to tackle this. I would like to fix it myself because, honestly, I don't really care what it looks like. My concern is just to treat the problem. I don't need it to be perfect as it will be covered by a roof rack anyway so I am open to wraps, repainting, whatever, just need advise on how to deal with the rust problem.

If certain types of products are suggested, if you would be so kind as to provide some examples. I have been watching a ton of YouTube and there is so many different opinions and products thrown in my face, not sure what would work best.
I am eager to hear any and all suggestions.

After removing the rust and repainting, protect it by wrapping it in vinyl. It's what I've done for the past 6 years and it's preserved my roof paint. I just rewrap every couple years. Easy stuff.

Kind of weird how they get those straight scratches, mine had them too. Luckily mine didn't go all the way to the windshield but I sanded it down, cleaned and masked it then sprayed etching primer then a couple cans of the Duplicolor and then some clear over that. I had plans to do a more thorough job and bought some 2K coating but I haven't gotten around to it. When it starts looking bad again I'll do a more thorough job. My poor hood is doing the Toyota flaking and fading thing too. Freaking EPA and crap paints these days.
