I love my prinsu. Pelican case, solar panel and water tank all on it currently. Very useful imo.

Still leaves the heavy, noisy steel supports in place though. Not a fan.

If your not necessarily going to use it, dont bother. It cost a few bucks (not to mention reduction in resale value), makes some noise, and probably reduces mpg, necessitates cutting up or removing your trim piece up there and opens up potentials for leaks.

If you use it, go for it. But for looks... thats a fools game.

If you’re gonna get one I’d suggest going with Prinsu or one of the similar, as the OEM is pretty useless other than for large light duty items. It does fold out of the way however which is nice.

Incorrect. These little polymer mounts are all that remains when the rack is removed. Rhino provides snap on caps to cover the opening.

So easy to remove. And it weighs very little (aluminum bars) and there is no detectable wind noise.

Is it sturdy enough for a canoe or kayak?

Absolutely. I carry my canoes and kayak all the time on & off road. If I recall, the non-static load rating was 200+ lbs.

My canoes range from 50 to 80+ lbs. My kayak is much lighter.

What a wiki page? Just real life experience. Ive sold off many vehicles. People dont generally like open holes in the vehicle and pretty much all aftermarket parts reduce the value when selling. What are you going to buy, a stock truck from grandpa, or a pimped out one that a kid has been jumping off berms? Those are the some of the assumptions you have to make when buying used.

When did life experience get trumped by tictok. Kids these days.

By the way I have a roof rack. But if it was for looks, I wouldnt do it.

While you certainly don’t get a positive return on the majority of after market products, most don’t negatively impact resale. At all. Period. Additionally, making the leap that adding a roof rack equates to jumping off berms is ridiculous. Also, for someone that doesn’t like TikTok, you sure enjoy making stuff up on social media for attention.

Two questions, what is the crossbar made of? I'd hate to have a metal crossbar scratch the crap out of the canoes metal gunwales, and how do you mount the kayak? Do you buy extra mounts for that?

You can use these foam blocks to prevent scratches:

Yep, but I also got some velcro wraps that go around them to make sure they dont open while driving.

Yup... Prinsu racks' load rating is more than the factory racks. Last I heard factory racks is up to 150.

A friend of mine built 20' canoe which is made of wood! Dang heavy! We went out for test run years ago.. I can't stand that.. I like kayak more.
