Using TD's conversion calculator it looks like 1USD is $1.29 CAD. You can get this rate if you have a US credit card usually there is a 2.5% fee on top of this exchange.

Shipping cost is post tax calculation, and I believe the $40 tax is also not included. Every time I have bought stuff in the US and brought it over the border they charge 13% HST on the cost of the item before shipping.
(($600 * 1.13) + $40 + $40) * 1.29 = $977

With all this information you can see that it makes almost no difference to the total price. The tax on shipping becomes more noticeable when you buy larger items like bumpers that have $1-200 shipping cost.

Again I dont know if $600+40+40 is the price AL is going to even sell them for anyways. this was a ballpark estimate from him. its dependent on how many orders get placed.
