I like it, is the deflector adjustable?, I would not want it to touch the roof, in time due to vibration it will damage the paint work. One other thing, do you ship to Alberta Canada or you have a dealer network up here?, thanks

The side panels do offer some adjustment with the front fairing! You can move it up and out of contact. We offer an edge guard with our fairing that features a plush foam contact pipe. This prevents any vibrations or abrasive contact with the paint.
We can ship direct to Canada! We do also work with a few vendors up there that could order it for you. If you would like to contact is in DM, I would be happy to share some of those with you.

That is nice! With the price and no silicone...pretty good!

Are there brackets for a light bar?

EDIT: never mind...I looked on the website. Do you have photos with light bar setup?

Another convert from OEM to 3rd party rack. Finally got my Sherpa Grand Teton. Night and day difference, wish I had gone this route from the get go.

This is the roof rack I'm leaning towards.

Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t the weight carrying capacity of a roof rack largely dependent upon the connection of the rack to the truck?

I had the OEM rack on my last truck and installed it myself, so I know how it is bolted to captive nuts under the roof’s sheet metal. While people might say the OEM rack seems flimsy, I’m not certain I’d trust anything too heavy up there anyway given how it is attached.

It seems to me that a stout aluminum rack (while admittedly looking good) might give you a false sense of additional weight carrying capability. Yeah, the rack maybe can hold 200# of gear, but those little bolts and captive nuts are the weak point.

Agreed. This photo of the Sherpa Grand Teton shows the grounding point of one of the 6 brackets (3 on each side). 3 cross bars transfer the load to the mount brackets and then to the body.

Others have side rails bolted directly to the roof channel. I'm on board with this design but won't be putting heavy weight on it.

That's a nice build. Right now I'm between a few racks with @RCI-Offroad and the one you have leading the way. I just can't bring myself to pay for a uptop overland rack. The RCI one for me ticks the look box at a good price. I think I'm just sitting around for black friday for my rack final choice since I'm not in a rush and probably won't install until spring by this point since I'll get the roof wrapped in flat or gloss black before install.

I see the RCI one has the three base plates, I can't tell how many bolts per foot on the rubber blocks/and bases though.

@Mike402 for your Teton you installed do you have a sunroof and sharkfin?

Truthfully I probably would have gone with RCI if it was available when I ordered the Sherpa. I already have their sliders, and full steel skid package underneath and its very high quality stuff. That being said this Sherpa is solid and I'm loving it.

No sunroof, and I have a 2020 sharkfin that was moved during production to accommodate the OEM rack. It still had a bit of a clearance problem, and this new rack is worlds better in terms of clearing that fin.

I like that look. Got my prinsu last year but if I saw this, I would have jumped on the RCI.
I like the cut out for the rear sharkfin antenna. Great current price too

Cross bars from Yakima/Thule are also good choices, though perhaps not as tacticool as the RCI or Prisnu rack. They work nicely for their applications.

Thanks so much for your interest in our rack!
The rear two feet of the rack will have 2 bolts per foot. The center two feet will have a single bolt per foot. The forward most two feet will have two bolts per foot. All of our mounting bolts have a rubber washer system and rubber block pedestal that seals the roof from moisture. It is a remarkably effective system. I have an install guide here for you to reference as well! https://rcimetalworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Tacoma-Roof-Rack.pdf

Ended up buying while still on sale. Probably won't install until spring by the time I get it as I want to wrap the roof in black... but it's still the best looking one that I've come across for a great price. Maybe I can ask for a light bar for Christmas! Will have to pickup the brackets later.

Part of me wants to throw some KC round type lights up there eventually @RCI-Offroad do you ever see making more wind farings?
