Did you ever get your rack installed? Roof channel weather stripping still good?

What type/brand of silicon are you all using to seal the holes, etc? Thanks,

I just used regular ol' clear DAP RTV stuff that I had lying around. I think it's for HVAC installations.

Had mine on for a year no silicone, no leaks as well, at least no leaks I've noticed.

I just installed mine a few weekends ago. Since I didn't want to pull it off and do it again, I siliconed the hell out of it. For good measure, I even sealed around the brackets that hold it down. 5 extra minutes and a few dollars for a tube of sealant is worth the peace of mind.

Prinsu recommends hershey kiss sized dabs of silicone on each hole to seal around the entire spacer on their racks. Mine hasn't leaked.

You mean the plastic end pieces and the rubber ditch moldings? If the OP doesn't have his, I do.

Installed my OEM rack a few months ago, used the washers it came with but also used silicone on the bolts. After the wettest spring on record here I can report zero leaks so far.
I figured for the minimal cost and effort, it didn't make sens to NOT use the silicone just to be sure.

If anyone wants to sell me their pre-roof rack moldings and end pieces please let me know. Thinking of taking my roof rack off and need to replace them. Thanks

Been thinking about this...what type of screws or bolts hold it in place? Anyone have work through pictures to show the holes and process???

**Edit: Wait, are they all pre-drilled for this accessory regardless? So I wouldn't have to drill anything right? Just remove the rubber moldings/seal strips and that's it?

***Edit: How do you know when it's leaking? Does it wet your interior head liner?

Double cabs have threaded holes covers with sealant tape. access cabs do not have anything.

That sealant tape is body-colored too. About gave me a heart attack when I went to install mine and didn't see the holes, because the tape matched pretty well.

Install went well, roof channel weather stripping is in good shape too, perfect I'd say. Just a little tape on their I need to get off. Did you get squared away with the other member for the weather stripping?

I just used the 30 min quick dry silicon from lowes. The stuff you would use to seal your tub and sink locations. And I put a good amount on, didn't skimp lol. I didn't want to take any chances.

Damn that looks great, I'd like to do something like that myself!

I really like the rack so far, just want to be sure I don't run into any issues (don't believe I would). I want to give it a week before I let the weather stripping go. Supposed to get rain for like a week here in NJ lol, see how my silicon job holds up lol.
