Old Man Emu 2.5" lift, brush guard (about to be changed), grey-wire mod, custom bed mounts for 4 jerrycans, custom survival box, maglite mount, KC Dayliters.
I vote for the roof rack for a lot of reasons, but mostly because I have a pair of the 130W KC HiLites mounted to the grille guard, and they are no where near as useful as I thought they would be. I mean, sure, I can blind Neil Armstrong on the moon with these puppies, but what's the point? If I could do it over again, I would buy lower wattage lights with a wider beam and mount them up high, so I could get as much coverage as possible. I only need to see so far in front on the trail, and my hi-beams do that nicely already.

    HAHAHA!:D I was just play'n.

I'm looking to get a set of Yakima roof racks. I was debating between the factory racks and the Yak racks. But it looks like the Yak racks is going to be my next purchase.

+1; I've been in several vehicles with different set-ups, the higher the lights, the better coverage and usefulness on the trail and in the woods, IMO. Although both reapers and jrobson's look awesome, I especially dig Kasey's whole set up, looks super practical from many aspects.

I voted Roof Rack. I'm not a big fan of brush guards.

I like how the lights sink into it

I know mine's not a new-gen Tacoma, but I have a FabTech desert guard that wasn't expensive and holds a couple lights..I think they've got a version for newer models...Working plan to add lights to the rack or divert $ to swap bumper for All-Pro front end.

I vote for brush guard for 2 reasons:

1-Roof racks and lights over the roof tend to make an annoying whistling sound on the highway that drives me insane (yes I know, you have a 20 foot tall roof rack and 400 KC lights and it doesn't make a sound)

2-Roof mounted lights can reflect off the hood and annoy or blind you.

    On the flip side

1-High mounted lights don't get broken by crap on the road or trail as much (although they do hit tree branches if you wheel in areas with overhanging branches)

2-The higher lights can be adjusted to illuminate farther ahead.

    Just my $.02
