Hey I just remembered I have these Thule snowboard holders from my older setup on my previous car. Does anyone know if these will fit the Toyota OEM rack-rails? It looks like they will!!! If so, that will save me a bunch of money on buying Toyota's snowboard holders!!!:D

Sure looks like they will WW....Would crossbar dimensions of the OEM rack be helpful?

Seems to me that most OEM rails are flat and wide which is what the Tacos are....I think you're in business.

Hey Squad, I noticed the locks on your low riders. Your factory roof rack doesn't lock, it closes. Can you or someone undo the latch while the bars are in place? Do the locks even serve a purpose if the bars do move (remember the factory bars)? Im curious.

Good point w8n and one I've thought about. The Lowriders are very tightly mounted and would be really tough to slide off.The other thing is that the OEM's lift from their cradles in different directions (ie,drivers side from the front, pass.from the rear.To a determined thief anything's possible but getting these off would be a bit of a project.

I have Thule kayak racks for my oem roof rack. Judging by the picture the mount that goes on the crossbar is the same design. If that is the case it will fit nicely. I beleive in my kit it came with 2 different size screws to customize the fit on the crossbar. I used the longer one and it holds great. Good luck with it.:)

Yeah I believe their called the "wide mouth" clips or something like that. I think their made for multi-purpose rack systems. I get my rack on Wednesday so I will know for sure then. Thanks though!:D

Just got a new roof rack, or im borrowing it from a friend and probably buying. I thought it was just the snowboard rack that attaches to the factory crossbars we have, but wasnt. Ended up being the whole set up that attaches to factory crossbeams, like what lot of SUVs have. I build the same set up on yakima and i think it comes out to be $563. I only needed the snowboard rack it self, the one that mounts the the factor crossbars, but he is selling it for only $200. It still mounts to our factory croosbars but on the "off" position. I like it because I can probably use it on other vehicles with just factory crossbeams without crossbars. So you guys with SUVS that have factory crossbeams and want to be able to swithc it between your SUV and tacoma with factory rack, this might be nice. Im gonna try it out this weekend when I go to mammoth. Ill let you guys know how the sound and how strong it feels with freeway driving, hope it sticks good :)

yea i like the setup. i was afraid if i bought the snowboard rack ( yakima big powderhound or fatcat 6) that attaches to our factory cross beams that i wouldnt be able to adjust the rack back and forth depending on the size of snowboards I put on because our factory racks dont adjust. I like this setup because i can move/adjust the yakima crossbeams on our factory rack wide or close together. How does it hold up? I was looking where it attaches to our rack and afraid that it might not hold to good since its so wide. What have you mounted on it, and does it feel strong?

Put on the OEM rack a few nights ago! Well my Thule snowboard holders don't fit quite right on the factory bars. I can get them to work but will have to mess with them a little bit to get it right. Didn't want to mess with it that night. Much quieter on the highway then with my Yakima! ;) I think it looks more sleek too!!

    Danny,
You want to sell the Yakima? How old is the rack and how much do you want for it?
    Thanks

Not sure if I want to sell my Yakima setup. Its only about 2 years old but still in great shape. They have been out of the weather for almost a year now so you get the picture. I'll let you know if I end up selling it.;)

I just installed a OEM rack on my truck the other day and it looks great. My question is does everyone else that has the OEM rack have very small gaps between the truck and rack up near the front? Just want to make sure I pushed down hard enough on those yellow grab tabs. Thanks
