Haven't noticed any whistling. But it does get a little noisy with a strong cross wind. But on a normal day, I forget it's up there. There are some comparable accessories.

So found the Pioneer system on their site, but can't seem to locate the extended height bed brackets. Which ones are they? This is nice, but not cheap.

No whistling on the Prinsu, but you may find you need to do some tweaking and trial and error to make it as quiet as you'd like. Once dialed in though there is very little noise whatsoever unless in high winds and at that point you're hearing wind all over anyhow. I don't think there is a better looking rack for our trucks out there though and I especially like the low-profile design and ability to use many different types of accessories for it. Couldn't imagine how naked my truck would look w/o the tough-looking rack on there now though!

Coming from a person that has personally owned a Frontrunner rack and ordered a prinsu rack.

Frontrunner rack is a great option, its very durable and has a substantial weight bearing capacity, the mounting options are immense and I personally liked how wide the crossbars are. The only con I found was it was not the best looking and it was very expensive.

The reason I ended up selling my rack and ordering a prinsu. I wanted a full rack system (cab and shell) and I couldn't talk my self into spending close to 2 grand to achieve that. Where with prinsu I was able to get a full system for just over 1 grand. Not to mention sold my front runner for $800, so for $200 I got the full rack system. :bananadance:

The bed brackets for the pioneer rack are not even out yet...... I don't think. I had slee off road install for me. They might have gotten a early version allocated to them but i have no idea.

Nope found that but I still cant see that roof rack it on their website.
Now for a helpful post... maybe you could exercise some more of your internet wizardry to help a poor internet challenged guy like me and find a link on that website to the Tacoma roof rack?

How much weight would you put on the roof if you were running a Yakima cross bar setup like in the picture? I have two kayaks I need to carry that weigh 75 pounds each. Not sure if 150 pounds would be too much.

Wish I knew. How was the turn around time? Expressed vs when you actually got it?

I mainly want a rack as an extension to a bed rack for hauling lumber, larger items. I have a short bed. I know you can't put too much weight up top, mainly for stability issues. Which rack COMBO do you like. I don't need super fancy, just want strong and not too loud at highway speed. Would hope to find a bed rack that can be mounted outside a SoftTopper!
