Camper shell dealer offers installation of thule and Yakima track systems on the roof of my new camper, I would like to have a basket for small cargo and primarily for mounting lights all around, google offers lots of information and products but its all a bit confusing as to what works with what etc. Anyone got some insight?

They will install two tracks that run lengthwise spaced a few feet apart on top of the shell. Then you attach whatever you want to those tracks. Bars, baskets, etc.

Guess I should have included the sentence "does Anyone have any recommendations?"

Pretty much discussed ad nauseam in the other forum and it largely boils down to personal preference. The major manufacturers tracks have approximately the same specs and will work with each other, it's the components that differ. If you want the least expensive tracks that work, folks seem to be happy with these, https://www.prolineracks.com/proline-roof-end-track-slats.html
As for mounting them, brackets, etc. again, do a search. Like the old Ragu commercials used to say, it's in there.
