Anyone care to post pics of their roof rack storage ideas, mounting attachments and security choices? I'm mainly going to be attaching for some guns and ammo but I would like to see what others are doing with a tried and tested solutions.

I searched the different forums and have some good ideas but this site is notorious for better ideas and extra tricks.

Maxxhaul basket. My awning mounts to it, and I carry a duffle bag and my tent up there for camping trips. All U bolts onto the factory roof rack, so I can pull it off and stow the rack when not needed.

Here is what I have done, however I would never consider putting guns or ammo up on the roof. Cases are Pelican Vault cases, which are quite durable yet lighter in weight than standard Pelican cases. I've never had any issues with moisture ingress and I leave them on the truck all year round. I use two Master Lock padlocks on each case, more as a deterrent, knowing that any would-be thief could just unscrew the cross bars. Driver's side case is tools, recovery gear and air compressor. Passenger side case has camp chairs, RTT awning poles and other misc. camp supplies. Maxtrax are just strapped in with RollerCam straps and long eye bolts. BTW, Rollercam straps are the best straps I've used.

I made a rack for my shell to match my Prinsu, basket is a aluminum no-name Amazon one I chose to fit nearly the entire rack for more carrying capacity. Like the Prinsu I use for the overcab RTT, it has holes on the sides to match an ARB awning mount, and slots for webbing tie-downs.
This was taken during a extended roadtrip we took in Eastern Oregon.166594DC-8585-4B2D-A9B9-E36D14192AB6.jpg

All great ideas, the guns and ammo would be for transport from a campsite to a hunting area not far away.

I realize this is several years old. Are you sure that is the v730? It looks short on that roof-rack like it is the v700. That Frontrunner rack stops short of the shark fin antenna and is listed at 45.5" long. The v730 is longer than that.

Not trying to bust you, I am just torn between the shorter v700 and the longer v730 so looking at pictures and this one looks too short to be the v730.

Does it have roller wheels on one end? I think the v700 has no wheels, the v730 has wheels.

If I have to do it again I’d get the v800s. I have the 730s and they just don’t look right on my topper for my ocd
