I have the Victory and it works great. I did get it just before their price increase.

Biggest issue I have is getting my Bonafide kayak up on it. That sucker is heavy. I load it up on the Diamondback, then climb up there and pull/push it up on the roof. I only do that when pulling the camper. Otherwise it goes in the bed with a Harbor Freight hitch extender. Bikes, no problem. Fishing poles go in ski/snowboard rack.

If you go the Sherpa route you can get the aluminum cross bars from 8020.net or several other places online.

IMG_20210625_075833552_HDR.jpg IMG_20210622_161600020.jpg I just installed the factory OEM rack, not that I need it and may never use it. But for me it okay, best looking rack, maybe not the best. Hell its what I wanted, looked and read about the others. I just like the factory look.

hey how wide are those yaks? I have two to put on a new Martin as well one at 30" the other at 34". I was looking at J-hooks but if this works its a better setup I think.

Got the factory rack as well, and like how it looks as well EXCEPT when the bars are stowed.

It always reminds me of this

So I am in this constant state of agitation between putting up with wind noise or just dealing with the look. I have stowed them on road trips and always bugs me when I stop for gas and/or food and have to look at it. I can't just let it go lol. I keep the bars horizontal all the time now.

    Yes I know...first world problems :D

this is an interesting proposition, as I am in a similar situation as the OP and I do have a set up from my MDX sitting around, need to measure and see if it is wide enough to use those crossbars. THANKS!

Are you referring to the mounts that would go from the truck to the crossbars? I am not seeing those items here, am I missing something?

Actually, may have found it, this says for DIY racks and crossbars..

Yes they all have wind noise, you can reduce it slightly with the edging, but pretty much expect it.

32" each so yours should fit exactly like this in theory. They hang over a bit on both sides, but it keeps the height way lower than j hooks which is what I wanted.

Sweet! Are they just sitting on the rack or do you have something below them?

I throw them directly on the rack. You could always use those foam pads, but I don't take the time to

I like the racks, nice clean simple install. I keep the bars stowed away, opened them to see if I could hear any wind noise. Around town and at speeds about 65 I hear some wind noise. Not enough to bother me.
