Ok, so I did a search for roof racks, but did not see what I was looking for.

I want to get a roof rack for my 2017 DCSB SR 4X4 and was wondering what folks think about the Toyota accessory roof rack VS. aftermarket. Specifically on Ebay there are OE style roof racks that look like the Toyota accessory one. Are there other choices out there I should consider. Pictures would be very helpfull.
    Thanks in advance.

I purchased a kb voodoo bed rack when I was trying to decide. Now it is not a roof rack but a bed rack... I have used it to carry both of my kayaks, a sears cargo box, sheets of plywood, lumber, tools, and other random stuff. It is more expensive than a simple roof rack, but it can carry much more weight. @KBvoodoo

I have a Front Runner rack. They are an awesome brand with tons of accessories for their racks. Only complaint I'd have is wind noise, which only from looking on TW, Prinsu may have the up on.
Plus they look pretty sweet. I think most people would tell you either Prinsu or Frontrunner.

Yes I have considered that type but need the space for tall objects like a motorcycle or refrigerator etc.

I get that, but I can remove it in about 10 minutes, 4 bolts, and move it myself. Since putting it on, I have removed it at least 12 times to move big stuff. In fact I took it off three weeks ago to make room for my Ice Hut and have not put it back on yet. When it is closer to camping/kayaking weather I will out it back on.

That doesn't sound too bad, just 4 bolts. Not that I want to, but do you think a RTT would work on your rack?

I honestly do...I was very surprised by how strong it was once assembled.
I have had both kayaks on top, gear on the sides, and stood on top....and it was solid.
From KB's site..."- This is our lighter duty rack. It is rated for small and medium size RTT's and light offroad use. For large tents and more extreme offroad use, we recommend our Premium Rack"

What’s your intended use? My wife’s Subaru has a similar style rack as the OEM Tacoma rack and honestly I hate it except for the fact it stowes away. The bars are essentially bent and curved so our kayak cradles or other items never seem to line up right.

I have a frontrunner rack and love it. The cross bars are made to allow you to slide in bolts without removing the bar. And it’s a totally flat tray. Beyond the fact they make a ton of accessories, you can make a lot of things work based on the design. Kayaks sit up there flat and stable and I can carefully lash a host of other items up there too as needed.

It isn’t the cheapest option but it’s solid.

Anybody like their Toyota factory OEM roof racks?
    Thanks!
