Love my OEM rack. Carries my awning, 4 maxtrax and roadshower. Stows away when not in use and looks great. If you don’t have a need to carry more than 100lbs then it is perfect. All the other options on this thread were just way too over the top for me on looks and cost.

Do you just strap down the maxtrax?

No. I am using these, the Maxsa boards:

    https://www.amazon.com/Escaper-Trac...=1-1-spons&keywords=maxsa+escaper+buddy&psc=1

The holes that come pre drilled into the Maxsa boards believe it or not line up PERFECTLY with the spacing of the stock OEM crossbars, and allow you to mount them with Yakima 39H mighty mounts like these:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0196GMDVC/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IHT8XFJLDCRQJ&colid=2SQPIRW6151IJ&psc=1

Then I just grabbed a couple of carriage bolts, washers and wing nuts from home depot and they mount up flush and secure just like this (sorry not the best picture but the only one I have handy right now) You could easily fit two more boards on the rack along with an awning and another item like a road shower if you chose too (that is going to be my setup when I get the $$$ as I have it all measured out with a couple inches to spare):

@Rob Daman covered the install very well. Only things i will add is that the rack looks good without the drip moulding installed and would have preferred not to drill it/punch it. Also like he did he left the sticky tape on top of the cab and only exposed the holes. Again some people take all the tape off and others do as he did. Again. If i could go back in time i would have just punched out the nuts holes as i now have small surface rust spots that i will get repaired this summer to prevent future issues.

I really like mine. Have hauled some pretty heavy loads up there. They do sag out a bit when you load them up but so far so good.

I'm about to install a bajarack. So you're saying it's not necessary to leave the rubber drip molding in?

I like it. All I ever use it for is to haul my kayak. It works fine for that

Another vote for Prinsu! Was down to Frontrunner and Prinsu but I preferred the lower profile look of the Prinsu and the lines work well to frame up the boxy shape of the truck. Both are solid, and I can't speak for Frontrunner but with a bit of tweaking and patience you can get the Prinsu to be very quiet to the extent you don't know it's there unless in really high winds. If you do go Prinsu many of the accessories for the Frontrunners will work with the Prinsu

The OEM roof rack is inadequate for most uses. Only rated to like 100 lbs and I'd feel uneasy putting more than 50-75 up there as it's kind of flimsy. Probably fine for a light plastic kayak or something but more than that or if carrying cargo offroad I'd want something heavier duty. Good luck w/ your search!

Thats a slick ride! I went with a 40” lightbar and kind of regreting it. A ton of windnoise. Ya i have it all way down and trim on. Light may complicate things.

This is the one I will be getting from a buddy who is selling his. Cant wait. Those things are so sleek and sexy. Best roof rack on the market IMHO.
