Hello gents. I have spent a ton of time on the forums here but I realized I've never actually posted anything. I'm usually able to find what I need by searching. Anyhow.... I am selling my awesome RTT. It is the Mt. Bachelor model sold by cascadia vehicle tents and includes the annex/changing room. The tent is in perfect shape, it was purchased in the spring and used exclusively for several weeks while the wife and I took a cross country road trip. We are having a baby soon and don't want the tent to sit unused and it might be awhile before we're able to use it again, though it'd be hard considering it's a two person tent.

Also included are two bed rails purchased from relentless fabrication which are equally awesome! The rails are specifically for 2nd gen tacomas. I was able to get about 20mpg with the setup I had.

Asking $1300 FIRM and really don't ant to sell separately. I am located in Manchester, Vermont. Now, I know these tents are really hard to find used on the east coast but I know someone here wants one! I will also consider meeting someone partway if they want to toss a couple bucks to gas and time.

Thanks! Worked out pretty good! Put a lockable tailgate latch on and some large lockable storage bins in the bed. Worked pretty well. Hopefully someday I can do a similar trip with some more wheeling and the whole family with a larger tent.

That's pretty much what I want my set up to be eventually! I love the mid height bars. If only the stars were aligned and you were near me and I won big on a scratcher lotto ticket.

The reason you were not using the annex? Too much hassle?

Well, primary reason is the annex is better suited when the tent it higher off the ground. The space underneath the overhang was useless as it was too close to ground. Secondary reason is yes, a bit of a hassle but only because of the nature of our trip. We changed camp location nearly every night and the pack up/take down of camp only took 10 minutes which made it quite convenient. If I was making camp for several days and had it higher it definitely would've been used.

Welllll. That's a bit of a story in itself! We had originally been planning on taking the blue taco on our trip, however, I kid you not, two weeks before the trip, the transmission decided it'd had enough. Long story short, truck had 90k miles on it. Auto. 2006. Didn't drive it like an as***le and well, they quoted 5k to replace it at least. Just did $800 worth of work to replace the shifter solenoid which is what they thought it was, they agreed to wipe the bill clean if I traded in and got a new one. I was in a real tight bind with being so close to the big trip and couldn't really do a new transmission, the old one was paid off, so I got the red one which is a 2011 with 45k miles. Although I've put 10k on it with the trip lol. Unfortunately it was a really crap situation and I ended up getting taken advantage of and lost a good amount of money on the trade in. To add insult to injury, I wasn't planning on a new payment but I thought the job was going good and while on vacation, I got a text message saying to look for a new job when I got home.

Like I said, a story in itself. The trip however, was the trip and experience of a lifetime. 3 weeks, 8k miles, 21 states. I wish I could live on the road for a year and just experience the US even more.

    Oh, and sale pending....

I could be interested, but it will probably get snapped up before I have a chance to make it to VT.

Question...I understand that the tent is sold but I came here via another "bed bars" thread and was wondering is those were the relentless "regular height" bars or their "tall +4in" version?

No worries, these bars are the regular height. Fuel economy was pretty important to me as I was doing almost 10k miles. This kept the top of the tent in almost perfect line with the cab of the truck. Worked out great. I actually checked the other day cause I was dreaming about getting another setup and saw that they no longer offer the bars powdercoated which is unfortunate.
