So, I want to get a rooftop tent and mount it to the top of one of our Adventure Boxes. We want to make them able to sleep up to 5 people while still having the same footprint. Important for families.

The question is which brands are the best? I like to looks of the Tepui's, they look good, but what have you used? What do you like? CVT or others? I've never had one so your help is appreciated.

Real world reviews from people who own them are best too ✌️

Thanks for the info in advance!

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
    CVT seems popular.

CVT and Tepui are the popular ones.

I have a Tepui and I have seen the CVTs in person - I feel they are the same quality. If I was to do it again, Id save some change and go with CVT, especially with all the sales they have.

Smittybuilt, Coleman, and Yamaha make tents also.

My setup is particularly funny tho.
    I have the tepui RTT.

A CVT short awning on the back of the roof rack

I'm going to make my own rack because it's going on top of our trailers so I'll just fabricate it. Thanks for the information!!!!

Those things would make me sea sick. Hampton Inn has A/C and a mini bar.

Yeah, but the Hampton Inn doesn't have views like this and has kids running up and down the halls at 2:30a.m.

I love our Tepui but I was told they are all made in the same factory.. Not sure if this is true. A friend of mine has a CVT and my brother has an ARB. All are nearly identical. One recommendation I would make from my experience is get the Ruggedized version!! One thing I like better about the Tepui over the CVT or ARB is the ladder. They are telescopic rather than a slide, also the Tepui ladder will go much higher the CVT without having to buy an extension. My 2 cents!

I enjoy my Smittybilt Overlander! One of the more affordable RTTs out right now, if you're just getting into the RTT game and don't want to shell out for a Tepui or CVT. That's the route I went for that very reason.

I spent half my life tent camping, from being an Eagle Scout, to raising two kids. I'm out on tent camping now days. A nice small travel trailer is perfect. I really think I would get sea sick sleeping on top of a vehicle like that. Looks cool. It's also too freaking hot here in Texas to tent camp in the summer. There are times it doesn't get below 90 degrees at night. If I lived in a cooler climate, I might feel differently.

I feel your pain about Texas. I have a sister who lives in Houston. :bananadead:

I'm also an Eagle Scout and have spent A LOT of nights in a tent over the past 40 years. But now I do prefer small trailer camping with a nice heated mattress and sheets LOL. Plus we get nasty weather in the mountains here all year so the hard walls are nice when the weather changes in the middle of the night. So, I just need something to go on-top of the trailers I build, AKA Adventure Boxes, so we can take everyone who wants to go! Kids, Friends, Cousins, Family.. you know the list never ends. It just will be nice having the extra bed space when and if we need it. Seems these RTT's are the way to go.

I do like the Tepui XL since it sleeps 4 :)
