    Hello TW!

Lurked on here for a good long while before finally joining and starting threads asking some questions. Great community here with a HUGE knowledge base that has given me so much priceless information. I have had multiple vehicles in my time with the majority of them being jeeps and 1/2 ton trucks and one 2nd gen Tacoma. Nothing I have had ever stays stock. This new build will most likely be my most extreme.

Have been doing a lot of homework and have decided to wait on the 2020 Tacoma’s to drop with the newer features that I want. I’ve been driving a paid off 1995 F-150 for the past few years allowing me to save up quite a bit of money to buy and build out a Tacoma. I don’t pull heavy things and my wife, 2 kids and myself are all rather small people. Haha plus my brother lives next door with a brand new 3/4 ton Ford if I need to pull anything real heavy.

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here and answer questions as they come up. I know I’ll have more questions of the community as I continue with this build. The reason I went ahead and started this thread is because I already received the first parts for it. I only bought these because there were great deals on them that I couldn’t pass up.

    First up is the suspension:

    • Full OME BP-51 Kit with Heavy Duty Leafpack
    • SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arms
After a TON of reading and asking questions on here, this is the kit that I decided would fit my needs best. I bought it now because ARB has a promo where you get a free compressor if you register the kit and the SPC upper control arms were included for free with the kit as well. Hard to pass up on a ~$900 savings. I’m a huge fan of ARB and their products along with their outstanding customer service (my personal experience anyway).

Next up, was a great deal on a cab rack:

    • Victory 4x4
Like most people I was going to go with the Prinsu or Front Runner, but I liked the design of the Victory rack and once I found out that Victory 4x4 also owns JCR Off-road, I was sold. I had a JCR front bumper and rear bumper with swing out on one of my past XJ’s and the quality was top notch. This, along with the fact that they were offering 10% off, free shipping and free powder coat had me pull the trigger.

So, the reason I’m kicking this thread off now is, all of the items above arrived today at the same time. And of course, I’m getting a little excited about doing the build. So why not? I’ll keep this thread and specifically this opening post updated as new events happen.
    • Buying new parts (damn promos/deals! Get me every time)
    • Buying the actual truck (still undecided between TRD Pro and TRD Off-road. Initiate “you’re an idiot if you buy a Pro” commentary)
    • Build progress
    • Life events and family outings
I have ideas on other parts I want to buy (bed topper, drawer system, wheels/tires, lockers, and on and on and on) but until I pull the trigger on them, I’ll wait to post. Will probably initiate some side threads in the appropriate forum categories to get the best responses/advice. If you’ve followed along this far you get a reward!! Here’s a super awesome picture of some boxes in front of my shop!

Received the truck this last Friday. Did paint correction (minimal) and applied ceramic coating to the whole truck. Fairly easy and straightforward process and you can definitely tell a difference with it coated. This will be the cleanest this truck will ever be, as I usually wash my trucks twice a year. I didn't order the steps, so they deducted them from the price. Oddly they didn't remove them though. I'm sure they will when I take it in for it's first service.

Parts before the vehicle, I dig it! I did the same thing with a 2017 Mustang GT I owned previously, my wife thought I was nuts lol.

    Looking forward to your updates.

My wife feels the same. Tells me I need to stay off the damn internet since I always find these “deals”. I can’t help it that I’m lucky when it comes to finding a good deal.

Received the free air compressor from ARB for the BP-51 purchase yesterday. Not sure if I’m keeping it or selling it. “Limited edition”

Did you ever decide on TRD off road or TRD pro?

it sure is. Was surprised to see it. And I don’t like the AG. Was going to do white but my last 4 vehicles have been white.
