Im going to try mounting rope lights in the bed and was wondering if I could tie into the inverter before the plug in the bed? I want to hard wire them so that they come on when I turn the plug on but could still also use the plug in if need be (although I rarely ever use it). Any help would be appreciated!

    i dont see why not.

But really, do yourself a favor, run a dedicated 12v line from the battery (fused of course) back to the bed, so you can have a 12v socket thats hot all the time, and get some stick on water proof LED lights and do it right.

Check the link in my sig.
