I just tried to rotate my tires and couldn't get the rear tire off. Yes, I removed all the lugs and truck was up on Jack stands. I put truck in neutral too and emergency brake was off. Is there a special tool for that big center nut or a secret I should know about?

The wheels like to stick to the hub, and may need a little persuasion to come off.

There is a special tool....it's called a persuader (aka big fucking hammer).

Beat the sidewall of the tire at 12, 3, 6, and 9 until it comes loose.

Common in rust belt states. Galvanic corrosion between the aluminum of the wheels and steel gun/rotor cause them to stick.

Loosen lugs and bring out the bfh as mentioned. If it's REALLY stubborn the method here is to loosen your lugs a bit (1-2 turns) and go drive a figure-eight till you hear the pop. Doesn't need to be at high speed, just a series of quick steering inputs. Once the pop happens, stop, torque the lugs, and drive back for the work.

I watched a AAA guy take a stuck tire off. He beat it with a rubber mallet on the inside of the tire and it popped right off.

Not to be confused with "loose nut holding the steering wheel".
