    Check the dust cover coming out of the transfer case. Its spot weld on and it breaks loose sometimes
    and rattles around. This dust cover broke on me and was flopping around free wheeling

    I don't have a transfer case. It'd be great if it were that simple though!

    This is the best one I've gotten so far. When I uploaded it and listened to it on my computer, I could barely hear the noise. On my phone, though, it's really noticeable. I think the low end rumble on the computer speakers drowns it out. On the phone, the high frequencies come out more.

    Pretty sure you have that cover on your pinion gear though. Worth a look.

    Hey IFGD did you ever find the solution to this problem? I’ve had the same sound coming from my truck and its STILL driving NUTS! I know this is an old thread but please God make it stop:fingerscrossed:
