Forum: my 07 Taco w/91K has been starting a little slower than I remember. I have done all the scheduled maintenance. I think my plugs were changed for the major tune up? I don't recall my rotor, cap or wires being changed. Nothing lasts forever, when should these parts get changed?

    TIA

These motors are coil on plug systems, no cap/rotor or wires. Spark plug changes only for the secondary ignition.

Take a pic of the rotor cap and we will be able to see if it is bad or not.

The last I had was an 86 Dodge W100 with a 318 in it. I did have the rotor detonate in it though. Thing just quit on the side of the road, pulled the cap and the rotor was black and exploded. Lucky to have a spare.

Truck I bought in 93, didn't even have spark plugs.;)

When you pay for the Stealership to change the rotor and cap please scan and post the bill - I'm sure there is a lawyer on TW that would be glad to get some $$ for both of you.
