Hang in there BENWA it sounds like the flying bug has you by the ass...LMAO. One thing I would like to caution you though is the overconfidence alot of pilots (helo's) get caught up in flying low and flying fast. Lower means slower and all roads have wires. We have lost so many a/c and pilots to wire strikes it scares me to think of flying at low altitude like I did. So just be cognizant of what your doing and where you're at all times. When you let your guard down is when it will bite you in the ass. Even the most experienced in flight hours have been taught that lesson.

    Soon....
Man I'd love to do a rotorcraft add-on, but since there's no places around with Robinson's the only option I have is to do it in a Jetranger....$20k for add-on to my fixed-wing CPL? Yeah not happening...

So update: I have about 30 hours now and still have not soloed. I'm starting to wonder if my instructor is just milking me. I have felt ready for a while now and was expecting to solo hours ago

Does this sound atypical? Anybody know what a typical amount of hours is for an add-on?

It doesn't surprise me but if it's an add on. I would think you would be ready for a solo flight. Maybe you've done something that scared him....:D

You mean the teeter totter thing would drive you nuts? Yeah, it drove me nuts at first and it's kind of annoying but it seems to work pretty well for dual instruction.

Not too breezy, it was actually a pretty perfect day.

The funny thing about the R22 is that even tho it's the most popular training helicopter out there, it was never intended to be a trainer due to its fidgity nature and difficulty to fly. It was invisioned by its designer to be an inexpensive personal commuter for experinced pilots who are looking to use it to whiz over traffic jams to the office, but it turned out that it's so relatively cheap to buy/own/operate compared to other copters that it has dominated the training market, even though it's a handful for new students.

I definitely plan on making more once I can start flying to cooler places than just around the airport :)
