I changed the pads on mine and it still did it. Even the factory pads only had 30k miles and they were fine.

almost every time going from reverse to forward or vise versa would result in the metal "click" or tick or however you want to describe it.

If it's just that click, that's normal. Just the pads shifting. I was thinking it was something much louder and prolonged when changing directions. Mine does the same thing every morning when I back out of the driveway, then put it in drive. Mine's gotten louder since about 40k miles though. Pads seem to still have a lot of life left in them at 60k miles so I'm guessing it's only going to get louder.

Pads. I had the same exact sound coming from my driver side, then later on passanger. Changed the pads, problem solved. Loud clanking sound that happens when you put it in reverse then stop? then the first time you touch the brakes down the road after that? yep, change the pads and the sound goes away. Solved this problem about a month ago.

    Get OEM pads

not that I have noticed. I only have 16k miles on it right now and I am sitting at stock height (not sure if that has anything to do with it).

This happened to me for 6 months straight, gradually the click got louder and more frequent, to the point where I expected it every time I touched the brake pedal. OEM pads had ~60k and what looked to be 40% left on them. The holes in the pads (where the pins go through) were not any larger than the holes in the brand new pads. I suspect I could have just greased the pins and backing plates and the noise would have stopped.

I swapped the front pads and regreased everything, no more click/clunk sound.
