I have notice a couple of times when I parked my 16 tacoma (V6 auto) that I could smell rotten eggs, kind of like old cars with bad cats. Anybody else been having the same issues. The truck has 4800 miles on it.

    Still to come
I have a similar problem, I'm thinking it may be the cabin air filter being dirty. I'm going to replace it and see if that helps.

I believe the smell you're talking about is from the AC condenser.

It's pretty normal after running the AC on, then turning off the AC leaving the windows up and the fan running.

Stan 23, that sounds odd, I have never had any of my cars Toyota's included that does that. The rotten egg smell is outside when the vehicle was just ran and pulled into my garage. Got out and the smell of rotten eggs was everywhere. As for the battery being bad, on a 2 month old vehicle?

Typically the cause of that is gas in the cat, as you said in your first post. I would monitor it and if it happens again take it back to the dealer and have them check it for a bad catalytic, it happens.

A bad cat converter will create a sulfur smell sometimes, but that;s usually only from bad gas being run through it. Your battery might be overcharged and boiling out, from a bad voltage regulator.

Differential lube has a high sulfur content & smell.

If you spot wet spots/leaks, warranty.

Outside? Then something different then. Take it to the dealer and have them look.

Probably not driving the vehicle for long enough period of time. Engine is still in open loop (rich) mode which is dumping extra fuel on the cat. Just take the rig for a longer drive, and use the skinny pedal a little more.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I get a funky mildewy smell if I turn off the AC/recirculator without running the blower fan to let the moisture out. I've made it a goal to flip those off and leave the blower on for a minute or two before arriving somewhere.

This has been my experience with all new Toyota's. First noticed it back in 2003 when my buddy's mom bought a new 4Runner. It had a bad rotten egg smell after driving it. It would really smell the worst when you would get into the throttle a bit. Then we bought my wife's 2015 4Runner last year...same thing...it has the rotten egg smell after getting into the throttle. My 2015 Tacoma is also the same way.

I have no clue what it is but you're not alone. I've even smelled it at a red light before and after looking around I noticed a new toyota with the dealer tag still on it.

Even when the vehicle is warmed up it can happen after accelerating. More unburnt fuel makes it to the cat which cools down some and then creates the sulfur/rotten egg smell. Toyotas tend to run rich anyway (helps with long term reliabiltiy) and so makes the issue more noticeable. So the Cat is not necessarily bad, although that can happen as well.
