Installed a 2” Rough Country leveling kit on my 2019 Tacoma. Install was a little challenging but not To bad. I found an excellent YouTube video. Just did one step at a time pausing the video as I went. Air tools are a huge help. Make sure you use jack stands. Safety first :). If you are looking to install one and have questions feel free to ask.

Just installed mine tonight as well. Did you have to grind down the factory studs on the strut?

I also want to know if you'd have to grind down the factory studs on the struts.

I guess challenging is not the correct term. Just need to take your time. Stay organized. With air tools everything came off very easily.

I had to grind the factory studs down about 1/8 of an inch so it would sit flush. Also went with a 1” block for the rear so I wouldn’t be sitting nose high. There’s about 1/2” of take now which is what I was going for.

To do it correctly you need to grind down the factory studs. Or you struts will be sitting on the points of the studs. Not really the safest install.

Tacoma’s don’t have struts. They have shocks with coil overs. Your lesson for the day is complete.

I do not believe this is true. Everything sat nice and flush. No issues at all.

Every top 2” spacer lift I have ever done the studs were longer than the spacers were thick. So they needed to be grounded down.
But I guess there’s a chance that somehow your bolts were shorter than everyone else??
I’ve only done 5 tacoma’s, and 2 4Runner’s, they all needed their studs grounded down.
I have a set of Rough Country spacers sitting in my shop, and a set of Tacoma strut top plates. I’ll double check later today.

I had the same kit installed on mine and was a waste of money, The truck sits to high on the front and I dont like that look, to correct that problem i'll have to install 1" block on the rear and I didn't want to go that way since I still have the rear vibration when coming down from 30 mph and no fix for it for now. Don't want to have issues with warranty.

On the other hand the fastest and easy way to install or remove that spacer is to loose the control arm.

I got a set of bilstein adjustable coil overs that can get that level on the front without messing around with the rear ones. I'll be installing those this week, got the front and rears for $400.

If someone wants to get that rough country leveling kit, you'll have to get the rear 1" block.
