Rough Country 2.5 Gen Hard Bed Low Profile cover - terrible fit

Anyone else have this problem? Im a pretty good mechanic and fabricator but I am struggling with the install of this low profile cover for my 2016 access cab tacoma.
1) The install instructions are completely useless
2) The mounting rails had the weather stripping mounted incorrectly - one rail was correct - the other I had to remove the weather stripping and reattach.
3) The rails simply will not mount level!! Worked to make these level for over an hour.
4) The panels don't seem wide enough - they leave a gap on one side no matter how hard I try to center them.

Anyone else mount this on a 2.5 gen Tacoma? Just wanted to make sure Im not missing something before I contact RC.

a 2016+ tacoma bed and a 05-15 are different. The bed rails on a 3rd gen are 1" taller than a 2nd gen. Your problem might be there..

 

Thanks for the Response. I will be contacting Rough Country tomorrow. I ordered one for a 2014 Tacoma 6’ bed. Its up to them to correct this or get a charge back.
