    im looking for a good inexpensive 3" suspension lift for my 08 prerunner. my budget is about the price of these lifts. which one is going to be my best deal for the price they are? or is there another inexpensive lift that is better? please help!!!!!!

    I've been looking at the procomp suspension lift myself, like the price and simplicity. A lot of people complain it's pretty stiff due to the heavier coil spring rate (700 lbs I think) but most of them are just parroting what others have said, and don't actually have the lift themselves. Some who do actually have it installed like the ride, and don't mind the stiffness, others hate it. As for the rough country, I haven't looked much at it, but is it a spacer lift or coils/shocks lift? Overall, avoid blocks and spacers. As for everyone saying bilsteins, sure they are great for adding 2.5 inches up front, but it doesn't do anything for the rear and is still not a 3 inch lift.

    rough country has 2" lift blocks in the rear. so your saying the add a leaf is a better ride than the block? The reason i have been looking at the rough country is because it includes there N2.0 series shocks for the rear where pro comp you have to buy separately.

    rough country 3" suspension lift is $249
    procomp 3" suspension lift is $279

    For that price I'm assuming you are looking at the pro comp spacer lift. Most everyone on here is going to tell you to avoid those completely, but some guys do run them with little problem. If you are doing any offroading whatsoever, don't get spacers. As far as the rear blocks go, blocks can increase your chances of axle wrap and other bad stuff that's not fun, get an AAL, it will make the back a little stiffer, but is much better.

    Also, most guys prefer replacing front shocks in a kit over back, since back shocks tend to be a little cheaper in most cases.

    I won't be doing much offroading. The only offroading I'm doing is hunting land roads and minor dirt roads. That's why I was looking at the spacer lift and the blocks. Also the blocks will enable me to do the lift at my shop instead of the paying somebody. And the local shops have told me that the blocks is the way to go for what I'm doing. But I don't want to get blocks even if they will risk the chance of hurting my axle.

    Even if you dont off-road a lot I'd try to stay away from spacer lifts due to longevity. I'd save up a little more cash and go with a suspension lift. These trucks are awesome so might as well treat her right.

    Look at toyteclifts.com and check out some of their complete lift kits. It will give you a better idea on prices and what your options are. ;)

    ok what exactly is bilstein 5100's? as you can tell im new to the tacoma world and lifts, well basically everything for my truck. so give me as much help and advise that you can when it comes to lifting my truck. i would rather do it right once that have to come back and replace something or fix something.

    So I've read all the posts about rough country, procomp 5100's etc and I'm still confused. I've never lifted a truck before so I'm a bit clueless. I don't off road, only some trails for hunting in Colorado and the truck is a daily driver...2012 dbl cab sport. I want a 3" lift with 285 70r17's and new rims so I won't need spacers.

    If I go with the 5100's and AAL option (which sounds like the best option) what exactly do I need for this? Are there complete kits and if so where is the best place to buy? Can I do the install myself with help?

    I should add that I'm looking for an inexpensive option since I'm already spending a lot on wheels and tires but I don't want crap either.

    Just installed it on my 2012 2wd. No blocks in the back because I have 4 leafs. After installing and accurately measuring the levelness. My tacoma is 1/8" taller in the front. Now this is before taking it in for an aliment. So once the tiers set flat on the ground again it should be on the money.
    Now I plan on leveling my wife's TRD 2012 and will probably go with the Rough Country lift because it comes with a and a leaf her TRD only has three leaf springs instead of 4. Not to big on the blocks.
