Here my my review of the Rough Country 6" Lift that I installed in my driveway on my 2011 TRD off-road.

I have ran RC stuff on allot of my jeeps and it works great for me. There are allot of brand whores and keyboard kings that really knock their products yet have no first hand experiences using them.

The kit was ordered and 2 days later it was at my door step in Atlanta. I knew the kit would be difficult to install without a lift so I budgeted myself a whole weekend to get done. RC says it is an 8 hour job. In all, it took me 11 hours to complete solo with 4 jack stands and 3 jacks. I'd consider myself a relatively skilled mechanic, not having a lift really slowed this one down.

I was nervous cutting the crossmember. Remember, measure twice cut once!!! The instructions say to remove the front diff. I found that completely unnecessary, And it worked fine leaving it in place the whole time. So if you are doing this alone, you are fine to leave the diff in place.

This kit was installed with my bilstein 5100's on stock setting and a 1.5" aal to make up for my sagging factory leaf pack.

I ran into two issues... First... When removing and reinstalling the axle nut it is best to have the truck in 4x4 so the axle doesn't just spin with the impact gun/breaker bar. I had mine in 2x4 and it slowed me down some due to that....my second issue was the biggest time killer... ALWAYS start bolts by hand before using the impact gun. I stripped one of the holes for the m16x1.5 bolts that hold the lower control arm to the spindle. Luckily rough country has great customer service and they overnighted me a replacement spindle free of charge. Finding a replacement bolt in a pinch was a challenge. No one stocks metric fine thread bolts!! Lucky for me, living in Atlanta, there is a store/warehouse for everything and just 30 Mins up the road was a warehouse that specializes in metric fasteners.

All in all, the kit rides like stock, retains great cv angles, and looks fantastic. People love to complain about dB lifts hurting your ground clearance. Me coming from the straight axle jeep world...this tacome still has more ground clearance than a solid axle. So there is nothing to complain about. I have taken jeeps with less GC places no one should go.

    I'm running
    TRD 16's with 1.5" spacers and 285 75r16's

it's hard to mess up stamped steep brackets though. Everything bolted up without any tolerance issues.

If I go up to 305's I'll re-gear. Don't want to do that right now.

Great stuff man! Love my Rough Country lift as well. Plan on running coil overs with it at some point.
I also run 285s but on 18s. Gonna go the 35 route once I decide to regear it. Save some of that cash for more mods:cheers:

Right on! There are folks on here running stock gears with 35's. They must live in Florida where it's flat.
