I would def get the rcd over the rc lift mainly due to the rc lift brackets not being boxed.

Same here (well expect for the trimming part, I dont mind about that), but after spending A LOT of time on tacoma world, and hearing a lot of opinions and advice, I've decided to go with bilsteins and Eibach coils for 3" of lift. Even though this isn't as cool for appearance IMO, It's seems better for offroading. Plus because of funds, I'm not going to risk Rough Country again. On my old truck, nothing fit quite right, parts were bents, and I had to do a whole lot more cutting and welding than "advertised". For something as irreversible as a DB lift, I would want to do it right. So it seems like it'll be a 3" with 285/70/R17's for now.

After going through pretty much issue you can have in a front end, i'll tell you that spacers are shitty. They move ALL of your suspension to the bottom causing parts to wear out quick and become stiff.

If you are going to do a DB Kit, get the kit, but throw the spacer out, and buy coil over! You are wasting the lift without them. Spacer kits are for "Mall Crawlers".. Icon, Fox, King, Camburg, All Pro.. etc. They aren't cheap, anywhere from $750 set to $3,000+ a set. The difference is incredible.

I purchased mine through downsouthmotorsports for $1,150 for the pair. they have a page on here. I have custom ordered Icon Extended coil overs adjustable from 4-8'' lifts (they said) but i have mine set almost all the way down and I'm above 6" lift. They have a 2.5'' Shock body. You can add reserves if you want them.

I have Toytec UCA which are adjustable (need if you want to align it afterwards)

My spindles are Tuff Country (not ruff). They are super beefy and extend higher to compensate for the DB. Spent around $1,100 for the pair.

Was it worth it? Hell yeah!

I realize I have a 1st gen and you are asking about 2nd gen, but the truths hold the same for both gens.

You need aftermarket UCAs and less preload on your front coils. Sounds like you have almost zero down travel, which is no bueno.

Anyone know if I could take off my current drop bracket and replace it with a new one by a different brand?

Do you have a front view of the spindle assy. Your uca def shouldn't be that far down.

As long as those are your factory shocks/coils you shouldn't be getting angles like that. On the db lift your cv should be close to stock angles. You don't have any additional preload spacers on those coils in addition to the rc top hat spacer do you? From your cv angles looks like you are getting and additional 3" of lift on top of the rc lift somehow.

If you wouldn't mind measure that top hat spacer.

The spacer measures 5". Everything is stock coils, shocks everything. No extra spacers the only thing i can think of is the trd stock shocks are alittle bigger then the stock base shocks. Idk why its an additional 3" witch makes it a 9" in front. I dont get it.

The spring perch on the lower part of the shock isn't on upside down is it?

Or one possibility might be that if you look at the picture of the spacers below notice they are tapered. I believe the they should be mounted tapering in towards the truck. If on backwards that could cause your additional lift. Either way you might want to call rough country.

What do you mean the perch on the bottom of the spring? The tappered part of the spacers are in toward the truck also so thoughs are right
