Has anyone installed the Rough Country vertex shocks 3.5 inch. I put them on my truck and it has lifted my truck (2023Tacoma Off Road 4x4) 4.5 inches. After 1k miles my upper axle boot has split. If anyone has them could you tell me how much lift you got. I like them ,they ride awesome but I can't afford to change axle boots every 1k miles.

There's been a couple threads on this recently (not specifically about RC, but that anything above 2" or so lift can cause problems such as this).
Best thing you can do is lower it down some so that there isn't so much angularity on all your frontend components (that or install a drop bracket lift if you need 4+ inches of lift).

Sorry OP. IMO keeping these trucks lifted 2-2.5” is key. Keeping components happy CV angles good as well. I’m lifted 2” or so and cv Fins are not touching. Good luck

did they split from off roading or just daily driving use? in general RC isn't the best but i think it comes down to what you use it for offroad vs onroad. i've also heard the recent vertex RC has gone up in quality a bit

I strictly am on road. Never off road. If I was going to off road I'd buy a cheap jeep. My old truck had a spacer lift at 4 in. and never any trouble. I only drive this truck less than 2k miles a year. My question was if anyone else had installed the 3.5 vertex , then how much lift did you get. Cutting the cross member is not an option because when you do there's no going back. I believe if it had lifted my truck 3.5 inches then I'd be ok.
