It depends on what you will use your truck for. For any moderate to difficult offroading I would advise against it. If you're just going for looks and driving fire roads or easier than they're fine.

I’d like for someone to actually break it down besides you get what you pay for...as I’m sure OP and others looking into Rough Country are already familiar with the price point of Rough Country stuff. I’ve had Rough Country lifts and products on various vehicles and never had an issue. I like to learn :pccoffee: so please lay it out for us please include actual item and your direct experience with it please exclude anything that starts with my buddy’s truck :anonymous: only looking for direct experiences :hattip:

I had a rough country 2" leveling kit on the front of both of my Silverados 08 and 14. Was a basic plastic block that fit between the bottom of the strut and the lower control arms. It was cheap and easy to install and never gave me any problems. I haven't bought or installed any other rough country products on anything else but I have seen in person a set of strut top hat spacers meant for a dodge 2500 from them and they seemed pretty flimsy. (Thin metal and sad looking welds). Compared to other ones I have seen with my own eyes they were alot cheaper looking and feeling. If that quality translates to their products for the Tacoma I would definitely look elsewhere, but it's been a few years since and it's possible their quality could be better now.

If you are looking for something like Rough Country, get the best you can get in this category. ReadyLift.

My buddy has a 3.5" Rough Country lift on his Wrangler. He also ran 35" tires on it. So far no issues. It's his DD and also he takes it on serious off-roading at the local off-road park.

If you’re going for looks and fire roads, I’d say keep it stock. 3” looks daft (on 90% of tacomas), let alone 6”. Reminds me of one of these, totally pointless unless you want to be a peacock.

Put their 4.5" lift on my jeep. Components held up and never failed but my spine felt just about every pebble on the road.

Yes. Not sure if that's just typical for 4.5", but it sure feels like driving on racing suspension.

I had the RC lift level kit on my '13 Tacoma. I knew nothing about IFS lifts and went to the local 4wd shop and asked for recomendations. When they told me the price I was suprised how inexpensive it was and jumped on it. It did the job it lifted the front 3" and the rear 2" and leveled the truck. It rode rather rough but I didn't know any better so I rolled it for a while. It wasn't until I switched over to a Bilstein suspension , I know still not anything exspensive, that I noticed the difference in ride and handling off road. Am I bashing RC? nope it just kinda all depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

RC is good for 90% of us yota owners. "Serious" offroaders in "difficult trails" aren't driving Tacomas anyway. Most of the "serious" offroading we see here is fake flexing on a river rock pile for some IG photos. Spacers for everyone.
