Just got my tacoma, 2019 sr double cab. I have put on 16x9 HELO HE878 with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 265/70R16. I want to do the 3.5 rough country lift. Specs say factory 16 in wheels with a .25 spacer will fit. Any advice on if the 16x9 wilt fit as is with no spacer and not hit the new knuckle that comes with the kit?

    I like those tires.....
Reminds me of when my granpa used to chase my granma away from the moonshine shed. He'd whack her with a board and then jump ontop of her and have his way.....then my daddy was born...yup

It's named Rough Country for a reason. Quick and cheap way to turn your new truck into a rough riding truck

I had the 4 inch on my 2019 f15 I just sold. It’s not horrible but not the best. What would you recommend. I live in Oregon and traverse Mt Hood quite a bit. Looking for something that will fit the 16x9 wheel and not require me to go up in size. Still need the mpgs for the work commute.

Dobinsons 2” with stock UCAs. Great quality, good price for a full kit. The lift is not going to determine if the 16x9s will work, that depends on back spacing/offset. I just did some modifications for a gentleman with a completely stock TRD OR with 285s on stock wheels and no rubbing. I, however, have a fully built truck with Kings set at 2.75”, Total Chaos UCAs, trimmed fenders, and a cab mount chop. I still rub my pinch welds. The reason being 17x9 wheels with about -10 offset.

Offset on my wheels is -12. I think I may go this route. It’s about 100 more but would allow me to stay stock on the control arms. Not looking for a huge lift so 2 inch will work perfect

I’m researching lifts and RC’s 6 day-old YoutTube vid made its way into my recommendations. The truck looked good so I watched it. I’m not leaning their way just yet but I did notice that their premium 3.5” kit does not use appear to use rear blocks.

What do you guys think? Has RC made an improvement in quality? For $2550 I would put it in the “I don’t really get super flexy but I want more than a 3” leveling kit can do” category. It’s worth a look.

I don’t have faith in their long term shock quality, in the valving, or the ride quality. The rear spring packs are new to me, but I would hazard a guess they are rebranded and built in Southeast Asia. The V2’s aluminum shock body is a plus, however. 3.5” of lift is also excessive, if that is truly what it gives.

I think for $1500 you can find a quality full lift and add proven UCAs for around $800.

Your stock suspension is way better than rough country. All the money to buy a reliable Toyota to just throw cheap crappy parts that fail and ride like poop.

I'm getting tires and there's an employee/manager here who has his truck pulled in next to mine, putting new methods and 295's on his brand new tacoma 4x4 and he has the RC 3.5" lift, says he has put them on his other tacoma and his friends' and he loves them. Has had no problems. I told him he's crazy for going over 3" with the 4wd, as my tacomaworld research has taught me, lol. He believes RC has worked it out perfectly with the diff drop etc...

If the inside CV boot fins are NOT touching, I believe him.

I'm curious to know how this thread aged? I'm looking at getting the 3.5 lift for my '22 4x4

I've had mine vertex set-up well over a year without an issues. I am hardly a hard core off-roader, but I've regularly had it on some decent northern Michigan trails and nothing has exploded, I've noticed no degradation, leakages, etc. I'm not saying they are Fox quality, but I can blow these, replace them and still come in cheaper. For what I do, they have been great. Haters can hate. I didn't get them to please the crowd. They seemed to fit a balance of what I was looking for when I got them and the have not disappointed.
