Search for the P11EC code and there are a few threads with multiple posters.

When I brought my truck in for the repair, there was already one in the shop undergoing the procedure.

There's a been few... but still statically a very small number. Remember there's a million of these on the road. But that doesn't help the people that have issue.

Due to the virus situation, I have driven less than 200 random miles since picking it up, but no complaints so far. They had the truck for about 1.5 weeks and provided a RAV4 loaner.

My typical mileage is 400+ miles per week, so we will see when things get back to normal. Satisfied for now that it was covered under warranty and now documented if any similar issues occur in the future.

Better attempt at posting my parts list. The issue was the burnt exhaust valve and not seating properly in the head.

Thanks for the feedback. I recently purchased a 2017 with 35k miles. The previous owner had the same problem and his local Toyota dealership inspected the injectors, found nothing wrong and sent him on his way. 1 month and 1,200 miles later I'm finally getting it fixed right. Now I am worried the engine may have long term detrimental problems due to the first dealership not doing their due diligence.

Scary stuff, not that long ago I had a misfire due to a coil pack. Now it’s misfiring again. I highly doubt another one is failing again.

Just thinking out loud here. With these burnt exhaust valves anecdotally applicable to cylinder 1 only, does anyone else think maybe it is somehow related to a hydraulic lash adjuster?

Perhaps cylinder 1 hydraulic is getting higher gallery pressure or is sticking or something, and not letting the exhaust valve close completely...

    Just thinking out loud...

Maybe that cylinder is the last to get coolant so it runs the hottest and will be first to have an issue? I know that is the case for #8 on Ford 4.6 and it usually be first to let go.

you are very close to being correct

burnt valves decades ago were attributed to bad oil
bad adjustment ......... valve Not seating on compression or firing
or valve sticking a direct result of deposits on the valve guide or seat

the ' Burn ' was actually ignited combustion gas searing metal the valve or seat
degrading the mating .................. almost like a plasma cutter

a leak down test can detect a burnt or a valve not sealing
    essentially at 100-120 psi
ear to the inlet or exhaust tract .................U can HEAR It !!!!

I had the issue on cyl 5 but was out of warranty by 100 miles so dealership quoted me almost 7k. Called corporate and they said they don't have records of this happening very often. Like someone said statically it might not be a lot but there sure seems to be a lot of people complaining when you do a quick google search. I don't think Toyota is going to do anything to resolve the issue.
